I posted this in other thread but it sounds like it’s some practice for a bullpen game. With the new format and no days off, could toy around with a bullpen game to try and use Your 4th and 5th starters as relievers and do a bullpen game in some scenarios for A game 3-5. May also honestly struggles 3rd time through the lineup so I wouldn’t imagine wanting him going further than 4-5 innings in a playoff game, and with a deeper bullpen with expanded rosters, can see it

my thought would be that the new playoff format means you’d want 5 clear starters and SPs will be more important to not kill your bullpen BUT I can also see wanting to use your 4th and 5th starters earlier in the series since Urias/May are better arms then a lot of our relievers. You gotta be prepared for everything in the playoffs and I think every pitcher being available every game is ideal

for example, I could see them trying to use Gonsolin/May/Urias in a potential WC game 3. Cause not using May/Urias in a 3 game series you lose would suck. Or using them in game 3 in division series if Gonsolin gets in trouble or game 2 if Buehler does. Everyone needs to be ready for every situation, and I don’t want our 7th best reliever deciding the game, I’d want our best available arm

What in the absolute fuck are we doing today? May is ready to pitch but in the bullpen? Why? He’s been one of our top starters all season and we’re gonna need him to start in the playoffs. Why are we monkey fucking around and changing shit a week before the playoffs? And burning the bullpen even more with Coors Field coming up to boot. God I hate this. Hopefully some rational explanation comes from this but my god.

if you were to combine muncy and bellinger...

yeah it more or less has to fall under the "unwritten rule" bs
i personally prefer to act like i've been there before but not everyone does so outplay them and make them feel as stupid as they look

Ah man, Joc was placed on emergency family list, second time this year. You have to think that’s a difficult situation for him wtv is going on. To be playing during a family emergency presumably going on, during a pandemic. Best wishes to him

Muncy's strike zone recognition falling off is worrisome, moreso than the sudden power evaporation

That fucking dolt Roberts still has got Muncy in a premium position in the lineup. The guy is not even near squaring one up...it boggles the mind where this guy "Doc" is coming from. If he's a doctor, he's selling snake oil.
    Just head shaking.
He's always trying to get blood from a stone...

the hell are we gonna do if Bellinger/Muncy/Joc/Lux can't hit. Bellinger's defense and speed is worth starting him but god damn, relying on Taylor? Enrique against a righty? Rios? Damn

AJ Pollock is the perfect example of why none of us should have Friedman’s or even Dave Roberts’ job

It sure doesn't leave any room for a CF who initially breaks back on a fly ball that lands 10 ft. in front of him eventually. That kind of OF excellence doesn't help Toomgis at all, along with all the other albatrosses around his neck.
