SF faltering in a big way and the Reds are now right on their ass. Shit is about to get really interesting the next week and a half

Dammit, AJ Pollock left the game with hamstring tightness. Hopefully minor, but he's been tearing it up

A couple of broken ribs would suffice for me. I'd also save a couple of rib shots for Tatis, Profar and Grisham, too.

The Dodgers all but locked up the division today. Our magic number is only 6, because we locked in the tie-breaker today, and there are 10 games left (9 for the Padres).

Dodgers, Braves, Cubs, and Padres are pretty much locked in as the 1-4 seeds. After that it’s wide open for the final 4 spots and what order they finish in. Cardinals, Marlins, Phillies, Reds, and Giants are the teams fighting for 4 spots with the Rockies and Brewers as outside possibilities.

Personally, I want the giants to win the 8 seed. I think that’s the easiest opponent on the table.

who is looking up to them?
if you admit that there is a rivalry does that mean you are admitting that the padres are better than the Dodgers?
    because, no.

look at their future, this is not gonna be a 1 year thing
and they have manny who played with us that one bad season
and he knows we dogged him on his way out
padres fans also know the type of attitude dodgers/LA fans have towards SD
they want a rivalry bad, it helps motivate and pump them up and they are on that trip where they need constant fuel to keep their high going because being young and dumb that is actually their best strategy.
    team chemistry and player morale
gonna help hide their mistakes while riding on sheer talent over that wave of fan energy
to Dave, the Nerds, and the Guggs this kind of baseball is dangerous heresy
but for a young team on the come up this is a good way fatten up the golden goose to see if it lays one of pure yolk

Yeah but its probably too late to help this season.
He should our 4th starter so he could come in as relief if we start off series with a couple of wins.
Because if we have to go deep in the bullpen for May as the third starter it will fuck up the bullpen for the rest of the series. Every series.
May as well just use May as the main innings eater in a bullpen game.
Start some other relievers and in the 4th or 5th innings bring in May to shut the game down.
Next year he should have that third pitch ready at least to use as a decent enough decoy.

    :laff:

Maybe we would like it more if we had Arte Moreno as our owner instead of the Guggmaggoganheim heartless financial behemoth?
But he seems to have ruth.
Which is is found less and less in corporate sports ownership.
Arte is surely not the best of the best or the sharpest tool in the shed.
You would never look at Arte and think to yourself 'elite'.
Same with the Angels. Not elite. Yet they have the best player in the game and they went hard and beat everyone on the international market for a chance at the closest thing to a modern Babe Ruth that's ever existed.
    Oh and World Series rings.

Makes you wonder why there has been a lot of loyalty from Angels players and staff and why some big free agents and foreign stars have chosen them over the Dodgers.
Could be about the owner of the team talking to them and finding out that he's a real person.
Not some elite billionaire thats worth over 3B.

They don't trust May is able to be successful consistently after the 5th inning because of his lack of a third pitch and experience.

I could see that but he’s being starting all year. Why change up the whole routine a week out from the playoffs? If you want him to pitch 5 innings max that’s fine. Just seems dumb to change up the whole routine at this point.

Good, maybe take that stick out from behind the plate and make him a full time DH that can split time at 1B and backup C.

    RF: Mookie
    SS: Corey
    3B: JT
    DH: Big Will
    CF: Bellinger/Kike
    LF: Pollock/Joc
    1B: Muncy/Rios
    2B: CT3/Lux
    C : Ruiz/Barnes

I don't think there is room for Beaty to get meaning playing time on this team anymore.
He should have been traded because he has value to teams.
Just not teams with so many big white stiffs that have to play LF/1B/DH.

Because all year has not been all year this year. Its only been like a quarter of the year and split up.
    Proved it again last night.
4 innings where he is masterful
then he has some trouble gives up a HR
then next inning gets in trouble again gives up another HR
dave did the right thing and yanked him
once the hitters see him twice he has to have perfect location on his pitches to succeed
and he does until he doesnt
one mistake against these types of guys in those situations will result in home runs because they are going for the big swing
that is a glaring weakness in his game right now
and one they want to steadily improve in the offseason when big games are not on the line
