If so, whoever composes the questions doesn't know the game. She's out of her element. Alana knew the players and the game.
I think she's cute as hell, too. And given she's not Eleanor Roosevelt, she's fine as far as what she's hired to do. Kid's a newbie, and she'll learn and get better...or she won't. It's not like she's VPOTUS or something, where you must show some savvy ntellect. Oh, wait, maybe not a good example, given the on a loop equine guffaws of the present one. And I agree she is working from a script, however loosely and bb questions are as boringly formulaic as it gets, and have been for decades...as portrayed perfectly by Kevin Costner. I mean, how does it feel to hit a walk off ? Duhhhh....how do you make that glib? It's baseball. Alana Rizzo was exceptional, and knew the game much better. Also older, more experienced and obviously not that happy about some aspects of working for the LAD, hence her abrupt departure. Working for a team who has as their field general the poster boy for relentless underachievment, she is a perfect fit, then, I guess.
I watched the games on mute during my trial run because they're all awful. Joe Davis is perfectly competent and seems like a nice guy. But at the end of the day, he's a generic deep 'announcer voice', and is often annoying in trying to sound like he's 50 instead of 30. While Steiner is among the worst of all time in calling action, at least he has a voice for baseball. As did Vin and Jon Miller. Voices that were distinct and the same as their off-air voice. Even that Neverett guy kinda has a baseball voice. Davis...sounds like every other factory made broadcaster. I've only seen Watson once and she was terrifyingly bad. Sports journalism is a joke anyways. I'd respect them more if they leaned into being entertainers instead of trying to be taken seriously.
Alanna departed because she married some former ballplayer Chris Iannetta and he lives on the east coast. She can't exactly be an in studio host and sideline reporter at games when living there.
Not what I read on here initially...read that there was some kind of unwanted incident which occurred, prompting a hasty " I'm o utta here"... i stand enlightened. Thanks.
