Didn't like the signing in the first place. Never liked his "smartest man in the room" schtick. That said (and been said many times) he was never convicted of anything and was punished more severely than some than were convicted.

He should be allowed to ply his trade, whether it's in LA or somewhere else.

dodgersnation reporting that LA has offered aroldis chapman a two-year deal
so they wouldn’t go after chapman and then release bauer, right?

As I said in other posts, given the circumstances, we need to keep him. If the situation was different and he was released by another team and we could sign him for 2023 at $750k, I'd say jump all over that low-risk no-brainer signing, so why give that golden opportunity to a competitor? Now, if he was a free agent and the price tag was millions, then hell no. But we're already on the hook for the vast majority of his contract, and we whiffed on Verlander, DeGrom, et al, while Buehler is out, Heaney and Anderson are gone... so why the hell not keep WHAT WE'RE PAYING FOR AND HAVE A NEED FOR? Releasing him to appease BJK and the rest of the woke crowd in this soft, soft world we've turned into just hurts this team more and potentially makes a competitor stronger. Let him pitch in Blue - it's just common sense.

Ha - they'd better not. But who the hell knows anymore? Like I said yesterday, I think MLB wants us to release Bauer. Chapman has already been accepted back into the good graces of the league.

Just an added thought... there should be an arbitration system to determine who pays what for situations like this. If the Dodgers decide to cut ties with Bauer and another team wants to sign him, an arbitrator should make a judgement on an equitable split - say Dodgers pay 40% and the other team 60% of his contract, or whatever. Why should the competitor benefit so greatly? It's not like the Dodgers deserve a punishment - they've pretty much handled this by the book since day one.

My thoughts exactly! He loves LA and I have no doubt he'd be down with a league minimum/minor league camp invite type situation.

Played with him before High School, and against him at Chatsworth.

Will Dave guarantee that she puts out on the first date? Then again, that would certainly assure she doesn't.

    but maybe… just maybe

The Los Angeles #Dodgers have until the end of the business day on Friday to reinstate or release Trevor Bauer. If they are unable to find a team willing to acquire him in a trade, they remain expected to release him. He is owed $22.5 million in 2023.

Several rumors floating around today about the #Dodgers being interested in veteran closer Aroldis Chapman, one claiming team has offered him a two-year deal. Neither is true. Two sources familiar with team's thinking say LA is not involved in the bidding for the embattled LHP.
