What's going to be wild is seeing him sign with one of the contenders for free and help them win a World Series.

Totally feels like a Houston signing, tbh.

FWIW, Bowden and Samson say he'll never pitch for an MLB team again. They believe no owner will touch him. If that's true, it'll be more palatable, but I'm doubting it. We'll see.

Palatable for me just from a fiscal perspective - that we wouldn't be paying for someone to rack up wins for an opponent. I agree that the woke shit leading to his cancellation is bullshit. And yet, I don't fully excuse Bauer because he has to be smarter than that when he has so much on the line. Definitely his ego cost him in the end, and from that standpoint we could be better off without him.

so its basically saying he deserves it cause he didn't say sorry like the legion of black and blue wife beaters still playing
i agree 100% he should have known better and as young men most of us don't an make mistakes
let the punishment fit the crime though and nothing will convince me he isn't getting a steaming pile of shit for being outspoken toward mlb and boyfred who's likely a pedo
ozuna beats his wife and follows that w DUI but hey he said he's sorry?
i feel people in the organization were fighting for him but ultimately caved and can be fairly sure who didn't want him back but we'll likely never know

    awesome
    :sarcasm:
    • The Dodgers lost 21.3 WAR from 2022 to free agency — and they’ve added only 6.9. That drop-off of 14.3 WAR is by far the most in MLB.

    serious question
has there ever been a manager who has done less with as much talent than roberts?
bobby cox comes to mind, but i think you could argue those braves teams weren’t as deep

    • “It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see JT head into coaching and be a big league manager. And, of course, I feel like it would be for the Dodgers.” — CT3
at least three (likely more) years away
maybe upper mgmt finally realized what a dullard roberts is and that’s why friedman & co decided to chop payroll instead of throwing money down the drain again

sounds like a bit of shot at davey for once, bravo
and if mgmt thinks he's the problem and keeps him around then they are the dullards
i guarantee you that micromanaging woke pos was one of loudest Bauer detractors as well

No, and I WILL argue those Braves teams weren't as deep. On paper, 1-9 the Dodgers had no weak links. No soft spots for the opposing pitchers to pitch around others to get to. On paper. Of course, we know in reality there were soft spots. But they still won more games than any NL team in 100 years. And they went into the playoffs thinking that all they had to do was show up. Roberts thought that too, as evidenced by his comments about the Padres playing with more intensity. I think Davey figured, he guaranteed a championship, so it would just happen. Because, you know, that's how Pat Riley and Joe Namath and others did it, right?

That's last year. More importantly, what do the Dodgers have to show for years' worth of stacked rosters and Roberts leadership? One championship in a 60-game season. HUGE MISSED OPPORTUNITY. One can only blame the players for so long. At some point, how can it possibly not come back to the manager?

But he'll get another extension. And probably a statue.
