2/3 more than in any of his previous 3 starts! Can you see him going 4 or more next time or do you think they are going to REAL slow with him?

Dodgers sign Max Muncy to minor league deal
by Eric Stephen | True Blue LA — 8 hours ago

LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers signed utility man Max Muncy to a minor league contract on Thursday, and he was added to the Triple-A Oklahoma City roster on Friday.

Muncy, 26, played 96 games for the A’s in 2015-16 combined, hitting .195/.290/.321 with 10 doubles, five home runs, and 29 walks in 245 plate appearances. He was drafted by Oakland in the fifth round in 2012 out of Baylor.

He was a non-roster invitee with the A’s in Arizona, but was released at the end of spring training.

Muncy bats left and throws right, and in the majors has played all over, with 23 games at first base, 21 games at second base, 17 games at third base, 17 games in right field, and four games in left field.

He hit .251/.360/.408 in 64 games with Triple-A Nashville in 2016.

In addition, one day after reliever Madison Younginer made a spot start, a pair of right-handers joined Oklahoma City’s bullpen. Adam Bray was promoted from Class-A Rancho Cucamonga, and Parker Curry was added from Class-A Great Lakes.

Oklahoma City placed catcher Brant Whiting on the seven-day DL, and placed Fabio Castillo on the temporary inactive list.

To replace Bray, Rancho Cucamonga added right-hander Carlos Felix from extended spring training. Great Lakes replaced Curry by adding pitcher Miguel Urena from extended spring training.

It sounded like White was rolling then a poor play with two outs extended an inning, followed by a dink and a bloop, then he got wind fucked.
As for Buehler, fingers crossed it's him going to Tulsa. Dude was hitting triple digits and like I said before, reports are he is just too advanced for that level. If he's making guys look as silly as he's apparently doing, then get him to the next level where he can put more of a challenge to good use. I saw a report yesterday that says there's a feeling around the scouting world that he's going to be in the bigs by the end of the season.

Also in regards to that Rancho team, some rumblings going around that Peters looks like the real deal and Diaz is looking really good with some serious strength in his swing.
Alvarez pitched a gem the other night. Not lighting up the radar gun with 99-100's, but throwing an easy 96-98, while also varying his FB speed lower and throwing some filthy secondary stuff.
Weird thing I saw tonight, Calhoun has 3 SB's this year already. He lost a bunch of weight and has worked diligently on his conditioning. The short and stocky 2B with 40 grade speed had stolen 2 bases while in rookie ball... that was his career total entering the season.

^Been looking at reports from Tulsa to see if he is there but nothing. I'm sure it will be revealed in time but just like you I'm hoping it wasn't a set back. I was just up there for work and that wind is fierce, scared me a couple of times while sitting in my hotel.

I'm in the same boat, I always get a little worried when suddenly a dude brings it another couple of MPH's harder than usual(which is what he did in his last start). I doubt there's any real worry in that reasoning, but McCarthy did it in his last start before TJ and it was the same thing for me before mine. So the TBD has me a little squirmy here.
Yeah that wind sounds like it was a bitch. There were some reports that said it was just stupid bad. Shit the Dodgers game was dealing with some insane winds, so add that to the already hitters haven and I'm sure that didn't help.

    Dennis Santana: 5 2/3IP, 3H, 0R, 2BB and 8Ks.

The bullpen proceeded to give up 11 runs (10 earned) over 2 2/3 innings.

Jair Jurrjens today 6 innings, 4 hits, 1 ER with 10 K's and only 1 walk, ERA now 2.51. Justin Masterson 6 innings as well allowing, 1 ER with 6 K's and 3 walks making his ERA 2.16. Offense dead today lost both games of a doubleheader 2 - 1. They miss Cody and why not.

Liking what I am hearing about those two. Edwin Rios, who has been on an absolute tear, did not play tonight in Tulsa. I wonder if he may be heading up to AAA.

Who you like more: Jurrjens or Masterson?

Have a feeling we'll see one of em at some point

Heard Masterson was back up to like 97 a few outings ago?

I'm sure we'll see them all.

Ryu, Kazmir and Hill are already on the DL.

Sure McCarthy is just itching to join them.

I think I posted on here some months back that Masterson was on MLB radio and had been working on some things in mechanics to get back to where he used to be. Masterson has always been the ultimate conundrum, when he's on, he's nearly unhittable, when he is off, HE'S REALLY OFF. If he could have ever harnessed his skills, he could have been one of the better pitchers in the league. With that said, I think Masterson has the better opportunity to make it back up. His stuff could play out of the pen if need be and I could see the FO finding use in what he has to offer.

Trevor Oaks (#17 prospect) and Yadier Alvarez (#2 prospect) pitching today. IF Oaks, Masterson and Jurrjens keep pitching well, wow what a great problem to have! The huge issue is of course roster space. Of course Ryu, MehCarthy and Kazmir are fragile like glass. Masterson and Jurrjens have the advantage of having pitched in the show.

Should be interesting to see how he does at this next level. It sounds like some of his issues(and very few at that) are due to the conditions you are exposed to at HiA, i.e. some really bad defensive plays and major hitter friendly conditions. I hope he continues to dominate and I have no problem with the extreme slow play here with his innings. This season has the makings of a guy that they expect to have help the big league squad at some point later in the season. He could be one of those Steven Matz plays where you store him in MiLB for most of the season, then set him loose for the home stretch when it is a little late and harder for players to adjust. Has to stay healthy, but going say 4 innings a start through May? 5 at the end of June, 6 July and there you go, 7+ August/September. Fingers crossed he stays healthy as his repertoire would be nice change of pace for our rotation.

Trevor Oaks not as impressive as he has been tonight. Gave up 4 in 5 innings and Logan Forsythe 1 - 4 with 3 K's, Joc 1 - 2. Trayce now hitting .039.

Dang. Forsythe has been doing a lot of the striking out thing at the big league level too thus far. Is that normal for him?

Nah his K rate is way up but it's still a small sample so I wouldn't worry about it yet
