Buehler was having trouble breathing and in a good amount of pain... this all stems from a Trevor Story line drive off his ribs multiple starts ago. That’s bad...

Roberts said he's been getting treatment on it for 3 weeks.

Yet they're just now running tests on him.

    Incompetence.

Man, I rewatched the highlights from last nights game. Both of Joc and Muncy's HR's were really damn impressive. Muncy's especially who has crushed lefties in the limited opportunities that he has had. 96 MPH left on left and he stay on that pitch and just walloped it the other way. 1. I really hope this dude is for real and 2. the Dodgers really need him to figure out 2B.

Roberts explained Buehler had been pitching with some remnants of being hit in the ribs by a line drive on May 21, via SportsNet LA:

“We’re getting some scans, some imaging tonight. Obviously, him taking that ball off the ribs a couple weeks ago, just the residual. He’s made a couple starts since. There was always something there but felt he could make his starts, which he has. Just kind of as he was going through tonight’s start, you saw in that sixth inning the velocity started to tick down a little bit. It just seemed like he wasn’t letting it go like he was earlier. For me, that was a big red flag that he was protecting. As I went out there with the trainer, we talked, and he just said he had a little bit of trouble breathing and he was in pain.”

    :dramaqueen:

Moments after Buehler had to come out, Chris Taylor curiously replaced Yasiel Puig as a pinch-hitter. Initial thoughts went to the Dodgers suffering another injury, but manager Dave Roberts clarified it was for disciplinary reasons, per Mike DiGiovanna of the L.A. Times:

“He’s fine, it was just an in-house thing that we’re dealing with,” Roberts said of the often-disciplined Puig. “He’ll be in there [Saturday].”

We should start a betting line on the next Dodger injury. After all sports betting is now legal.

    I have dibs on Belli....

He played there quite a bit in 2016 but just looking at the dude, that must’ve been like 60 pounds ago. I can’t imagine he’s even average at 2B right now

even worse that they kept sending him out there
i understand we're thin on starters and that buehler probably wanted the ball...
but management needs to be smarter when it comes to (young) guy's health
funny how they'll err on the conservative side when it comes to pitch count(s)...
but then do (seemingly) irresponsible things elsewhere
know i'm a broken record, but management should have insisted seager have surgery in the offseason

edit: haven't been around as much lately, so if there's mitigating circumstances/addtl info i'm unaware of, i apologize...
    sort of...

We should get Scooter Gennett and Raisel Iglesias OR Jonathan Schoop and Zach Britton. I’ll trade Verdugo.
