Was just thinking this earlier but how awesome would it be to see a Mitch Kupchak type redemption for Ned. Everybody used to hate Mitch and I remember his nickname Mitch Cupcake, now he is a fucking boss who shouldn't be messed with lol. Would be kinda cool to see Ned become a top GM after all the ahte we've laid at his feet.
Ned will probably get wet kisses at the end of the season regardless of how things turn out for the team. He put together an almost first place team during a major ownership fail, on through a period of transition, and into the Magic Stan Guggenhiem era. Ned's pitching worked out very well. His journeymen scrubs performed much better than anyone ever suspected. (Thanks to Donnie's ever changing infield/lineup cards). And, of course, first place for a lot of the season helps his cause tremendously. So, I think the Nedster and his moustache will be celebrated as miracle man for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately.
I could honestly see that happening. He has pretty much completely morphed the entire look of our offense in a matter of about four months. I think he will still get shit for the Uribe and Schmidts. If he continues to add true talent that makes us better I will be more than happy to eat a decent amount of crow. I just want a winner day in and day out.
