I don't blame the corner outfielders, either. There's a common culprit in both collisions. To be fair, both plays, especially the second one, were hardly cut and dried as to who had the best shot at catching the ball.

Four innings, 97 pitches and a blister?

Didn't see it that way...the second one was just an unfortunate situation that almost couldn't be avoided...just bad luck.
But the Joc/CB was avoidable. I thought it was Joc's ball all the way, and he would have made the catch rather easily, given the absence of Bellinger running towards him. The more I see it, the more I'm convinced.
I know CB can do know wrong, no matter what he does but it was a rookie mistake on a classic level.
Joc had a bead on that, and as CF, it's his all the way.
We were pretty lucky we got two outs on them.

Isn't this the second time this year we've allowed a two base score on a WP ?
Might have been Barnes, I forgot. You just don't see that very much.
    Pretty rare, I would say.
I guess we have to work on that, but God knows how.

Great win. Not pretty by any means, but it's a win over a good team that has given us fits for years. Unfair that Kershaw only got a no decision.

    a point not well covered

in BOTH cases Joc was in the wrong.
in BOTH cases the CF is in charge and is supposed to call off the other players
in BOTH cases Cody and Puig saved the day by making the catch despite Joc's interference

of course the replay of Joc taking a header from the fence after bouncing off Puig was its own penalty

By allowing just the three baserunners on Tuesday, Kershaw also moved into very rare territory, lowering his career WHIP below one. He has 1,346 hits allowed and 485 walks in 1,831â…” innings, good for a WHIP of 0.99964.

The only other two pitchers in major league history with a sub-1.000 WHIP are Addie Joss (0.9678) and Ed Walsh (0.99955), and they pitched in the dead ball era.

Please stay healthy Clayton. I gotta see what this guy comes up with in his 30s. Already one of the GOAT

It's difficult to be any more incorrect about the Bellinger incident, but you've somehow managed it.
And the kid banging his head, labelled a "penalty" for not doing what you think he should have, is just a wee bit grotesque imo.

So if Joc was slender and didn't have a double chin ( which he had on it's way when he came up, btw), would this still be funny?
    Just curious...

It's funny as long as know one gets (seriously) hurt. In fact, if someone skinny like Juan Pierre ran full speed into Puig it would be even funnier... assuming JP didn't die.
