From what I’ve read, the Dodgers told Cingrani to use his slider a lot more and it has worked. With the Reds, he basically only used his fastball. Now, he’s using his slider way more and throwing his fastball much higher in the zone and it’s leading to good results.

Watson is the one I’m unsure about.. he gives up soft contact for the most part but isn’t great at striking out guys. I think I trust him with the bases empty but wouldn’t want him to come on to try and strand some runners.

    totally agree
puiggy was excelling in the 8th spot because he was trying to show that he didn't belong there
now that incentive/chip on his shoulder is gone
    should have never moved him
sometimes the best moves are the ones you don't make -- if it ain't broke, don't fix it
unfortunately doc seems intent on trying to prove what a great manager instead of just sitting back and watching the team succeed
if they back into the division, limp into the post, and lose the lds... he should lose his job
    sorry, he should

FUCKTARDS can't help themselves and never fail to tweak that which requires no tweaking. The smug asswipe should just sit in a corner with his water bottle and STFU!

The old adage applies like a MF'er... If it ain't broke don't fix it.

If Granderson really is coming around than Logie Bear is the only real hole.

    Here's to hoping.

Can't say for sure if that's why Puig was succeeding in the 8 spot, not even gonna attempt to go into the mind of Yasiel Puig right now. I do know, however, that I'm not comfortable with a guy who has a .650ish career OPS in the post season in the 5 spot though. He's got good numbers in the 6-7-8 spots this season..I'm good with him in those spots, a little further away from top/middle of the order action. He was doing really well in the 8 spot when half the pitchers were starting him off with 2 or 3 straight balls with the pitcher on deck, getting low-leverage ABs for the most part, it really was ideal.

Far as Doc goes, the tinkering is whatever for me. It's his composure at these pressers that get me. Always with the sunny demeanor. Maybe he throws some shit around away from the camera, but I just wanna see at least one Hal McRae moment from Doc with my own 2 eyes. Find a big, old school rotary phone, toss that SOB and knock a MF out..preferably Baez

Who you got to replace him?
Nobody you got is better than him.
You want an untested guy from the org like Kapler?
Some retread you can hate too?

    We have a great manager.
But you would rather have the Giants manager?
Maybe he gets fired, doubt it.

It if aint broke dont fix it is such a dumb thing.
In reality you MUST fix things before they break so they do not break.
And the Dodgers are not broken, but they are in the shop ;)

Folks have been talking shit about the team and the FO all year.
In the preseason there was no hope.
Early in the season when we started slow there was no hope.
When we were winning like crazy half of yall were drunk off of it like schoolgirls.
I did not get it, because if you do that you will then feel like shit when reality sets in.
But maybe since yall had no hope early on and now to see the team to great really surprised the hell out of people and that is why they went crazy.
But then why the disappointment now?
Because I can point to post throughout the season where folks point out all of the team weaknesses and how nothing has been addressed again this offseason in regards to the holes in the roster and how the team would once again fail like it always does.
Thats been the narrative all year from some and it would have been from most if not for the great run.

If they dont make it out of the first round it should be a bunch of players who lose their job.
    And they will.
In fact, they may already have.

    But fuck yall's noise.
This aint even the season yet.
I suggest you go to a fairy and fill your hearts up because soon enough it will be time for young Link to go fight the Dodongo.
We will know soon if the Dodger critics are right and the Dodger fans are wrong.
But the Dodger fans will be all right.
Even if the team fucks up in October every year.
    They my team you see.
    I cant quit them.
I dont want to quit them.
So I cant let quit into my heart.

logan has done very well against lhp, which is why he was brought here
problem is, roberts kept trying to force him in as the everyday 2b and he's been dreadful against rhp...

2b should be a platoon between him and utley

I have many years of experience owning exotic cars so yeah, I really get the idea of preventative maintenance. That said, when you posted:
ALL I could think about was Friedman's fetish for damaged pitchers and spit coffee on my keyboard...

Thanks for the good laugh! :D

It's ironic how we always see WTF is so obviously wrong with the team and the FO's never do, be it this one or the others in the past.

Last night HAD to have impacted their thinking.

so you've got to fix shit before it breaks?
then wtf has roberts done to stop their current downhill tumble?
    cricket_zps04358b79.gif
    thought so
preventative maintenance is a far cry from micro/over-managing
and i don't recall anyone here being "drunk" with the early success, only cautiously optimistic
if we were all even keeled we'd probably still be at some shithole like psd
the term "fan" is derived from fanatic, so why would you expect anything less?
and no one is talking about abandoning their loyalty -- if you haven't quit by now, it's too late... the addiction owns you
i expect passion from my fellow fans and understand that sometimes it might not be rational
if you lack emotion then you are incapable of feeling
that's what will make winning it all (if we ever do) that much sweeter
knowing how much we've been through and how long we've suffered
and please don't bring up about cubs and red sox fans, where 25k is a sellout
the dodgers have led the league in attendance for most (if not all) the years i've been a fan
they deserved to suffer as long as they did, and hopefully their droughts will be longer this time
    that is all

You dont remember wanting to suck Taylors cock?
Diablo and I were looking around at all the cock sucking going on not sure what had just happened.
But then Taylor kept playing awesome so we got a little Taylor-curious too, it happens.

Roberts has tried doing lots of stuff
Players have failed. The sooner we know who is gonna fail the faster we can not count on them.
But players fail all the time for every team.

Fan does not mean what you think it means. Fanatic as in religious fanatic or crazy nut is not the definition of the term.
You really have any point of comparison with the fucking Westboro Baptist Church folks or the Islamonuts?

Fanatic means to be fond of something. To appreciate it, to love it, to care for it, to want to blow on it and spread it around like the petals on a dandelion bud.
The word fanatic comes from the word FANCY.
Like they said in the past, "I fancy that lady". Fancy is a fancy way of saying LIKE.
It is Love but not the kind of love you have for your wife. Wife love can easily spill over into wife Hate.

This sick definition of fanatic that you brought up is not real. Look it up if you ever want to know.
It is just an excuse for non fans who want to shit on the parade to be able to get to the parade too.
First they must hide as fans. Then they try to get the fans on their fanatic side. Then that fan base is ruined.
Like the Raider fanbase, any Philly fanbase, the Cowboy fanbase, Celtic fanbase, Knick fans etc...

Dodgers and Laker fans have been traditionally some of sports greatest fans for the reason why fanatics and fanatic supporters like ESPN say we have shitty fans. Our fans are awesome because they are FANS not FANATICS.
If the majority of our fans were Fanatics then our fan base would suck.
But the majority of our fans love our teams and are awesome fans that fan the flame of love that they share with the team.

A fanatic is not passionate, a fanatic wants to bring passion to others.
But Passion means HURT. Fanatics want you to hurt like they hurt.
To suffer the indignities that they are suffering.
Because what the fanatic is all about is FAIRNESS.
And how unfair things are for them which they love because now they can bitch and hate and point fingers and blame everyone and anyone they can.
That is a Fanatic and it has NOTHING To do with Fan.
A fan acknowledges the hurt, but does not dwell on it, much less spread it around or look for who to blame.
A fan is a follower, a fanner, the choir to the minister who back him up and say AMEN when he makes a point.
You are the church, the stadium is the cathedral, the coach is the minister, the players are the inner choir and the fans are the admirers/supporter who listen and then sing following along with the choir who is following along to the coach who is following along with the executive.

Again, look it up if you think im making shit up. Finski is an English teacher and he can vouch for all of this.
If you love the Dodgers you are a Dodgers fan and want to foster a culture of support of your teammates.
If you hate Dodger fans and want to cut down Dodgers players at every chance then you are a Dodgers fanatic.
The enemy of the Dodgers fan is not the Giants fan.
The enemy of the Dodgers fan is the Dodgers fanatic who is ruled by his passion which is not true love but ROME-antic love.
The one who professes to be your ally but is really your worst enemy.
No Dodgers fan has beat a Giants fan to near death.
That is your classic Dodgers fanatic.
Luckily we do not have very many of them.
