I would seriously be relieved if he is injured for the rest of the year. It is the only way we rid ourselves of him. Dave, the F.O. and the media will continue to champion Kenley as long as he is physically able.

Not going after Kimbrel is a failure of epic proportions. Now we have to use prospect capital to trade for 3+ arms which all need to be damn near elite!

Verdugo saved Kenley's ass in center field back at Dodger Stadium a few weeks ago. He needs to be there.

This FO acquires a guy who can get hurt walking to the bathroom, and they expect him to play all out?

We need insurance in the form of heavy lights out BP and closer. The Kenley era is over. Don't they see?

Why is it so hard to see.

Btw, while we're bitching big time...it didn't end on Turner's watch, but without Jansen's putrid attempt a closing, imo, it's on Turner and his error with that fucking annoying lollipop he throws to first.
I always hated those throws, and they are growing in their inaccuracy more and more.

JT's error was pretty big and is Seager still able to play ss?

short of wanting his career to be over i'd say it would at least be good if he could find some humility
totally agree giving the ball to Kelly in his absence (assuming of course)
that can only be a good thing in the long run

Yeah, fuck him. It's the early five run deficit and watching the team fight all the way back that makes this one hard to take. Incredible comeback, but all for naught.

Both Muncy's and Joc's inexperience at their positions reared its ugly head last night.

Speaking of ugly heads, look under Jansen, K.

A 1B with adequate footwork makes that play, despite the inaccurate throw.

And not to mention, but I am, that Baez was lucky, lucky I tell you, to get through his inning, without giving up a run.
we just have no back end to the bp. Right.now.
Too bad about Ryu, who deserved a victory, and Beaty too, with that clutch HR.
at least they did their job.

Sorry...don't agree. A simple, routine play first of all, and only if his leg is about three feet longer. Wasn't poor footwork, was a no stress clank by Turner.

You know things are bad when people are suggesting Joe Kelly be the closer.

I wonder...but I could envision Julio as the closer more and more. Although it would sriously dilute the.multi inning effectiveness we have with Julio. And Julio is not an every night guy, I fear.
But that's the result of a this rapid death spiral by Jansen. His inadequacies cost more the just trying to fill his spot. He hurts the team cumulatively way more than just his failing role.
His runway runneth out, I fear.

Kenley actually looked good in Boston so I’m hoping yesterday was about him getting hit in leg and not anything else. He even admitted he should’ve left the game. Put him on IL to heal, then figure things out.

would love to agree but i can’t
    kenley can’t be relied on
he’s also arrogant and in denial
all those times shaking off russ/barnes and ignoring the scouting reports, not wanting kimbrel as a closer, and somehow being delusional enough to think he’s still effective/elite
yes, you want a closer to have a short memory, but you don’t want them to be completely out of touch
i don’t trust kenley and don’t like/agree with the way he’s being coddled
what incentive is there to focus on getting better when there’s no threat whatsoever of him losing his job?
14 games up, let someone else try to close out a couple games
don’t care if it’s floro, baez or kelly...
as bad as they could potentially be, give them a shot
just sick of kenley’s entitlement and roberts babying him
if this were nearly any other profession something would have already been done

Kenley was given the bottom of the Phils' order to deal with last night and he failed.

Lucked out with the first hitter's shot caromed to Freese. I know it was just one hit but I thought the inning was doomed when the back up catcher hitting less than .200 crushed one off the wall.

He had some bum luck with the pop fly that fell and the seeing eye groundball single, but screw that.....he had nothing.

Figure out what? Why he is OK one game, and completely a wimp in the next? Is this what we go into the post season (as shoe-ins, mind you) with?
There's got to be some continuity, some lock down confidence with your closer. He's much too shaky, and just like he completely ruined Beaty's gutsy heroics, he can undo something even more important...much more.
The guy was great once, he really was.
But he doesn't cut it any more. Wake up and smell the blown saves.
He's the kind of guy now that can easily undo a whole year of hearing about and rooting for and watching faithfully " the best team in baseball" and what finally may be more of a reality than before, and turn it into another greasy spot in Dodger history.
Everyone involved deserves better odds at the end than this version of Kenley Jansen.
    Even fucking Dave.
