I don't get back to back Barnes, either. With the four LHs taking the year off, it's hard to justify taking a hot stick out of the lineup.

Don't mind him as Kershaw's caddy. Seems they have a good thing going (no homo and no offense to AJ Ellis). A pitcher like Kershaw depending almost solely on spotting his pitches can make good use of Barnes' receiving skills.

I' m no fan of Dave's brain, or his management "skills"at all, but maybe...just maybe...spelling Will exactly the way he has been keeps him optimal offensively. And it seems that stats play play a factor if you like a guy or if you hate him, much of the time. Barnes numbers are not that bad overall, just not as good as Will's are.
Barnes is going to spell him from time to time, and questionable "resting"of every player in the iineup is a Roberts thing, so get used to it. It will always be so.
Like moving a mostly ineffective Muncy up in the lineup...

From what I’ve read, part in the thinking is that Barnes with Kershaw unleashes great pitching from CK AND that in a series with 3-5-7 possible consecutive games, you gotta rest your catcher at least once so yeah

plus you can DH Smith and then really you’re batting Barnes instead of like Joc, Enrique, Lux, or Muncy, all of which aren’t exactly tearing it up

a real hangover Sunday lineup, and when you’re going for a 4 game series sweep, I don’t blame them

They sure can beat up on the scrub Rox pitchers...been doing it pretty damn well for three games.
But up against a guy that's pretty good, or fairly good, they're flaccid . No Marcus, no CT3...so now we can't
score? Guess not...Dave like a kid with a new toy. Gave McKinstry a "heads up" before the game he was going to be the RF today...hee hee. Dave's such a wild and crazy guy. The Steve Martin of baseball, eh ?
    Wtf?
Idk...doesn't bode well for the post, imo. We won't be facing bottom of the league batting practice guys like the most of the Rox staff is.
    Damn obvious to me.
Demand the best at all times, I say.
    Been waitin long enough.

Unimpressive as a pile of shit...when your best offense is walks.
and may I experience the day when Alex Wood is no longer a Dodger sooner than later.
The guy is a huge zero...if he is in the post, expect nothing but heartbreak from him.

Exemplified by Bellinger's weak ass K with the sacks loaded.

Hopefully he learned something from Pollock getting knocked on his ass and getting up and hitting a two run single, but I doubt it.

To me just a random piece of the total loser puzzle we always wind up completing in typical Dodger fashion.
Even less than I respect Wood for something he did 4 years ago, is the genius who put him back on the team in the rotation, after he was FINALLY gone. ( so I stupidly thought ). Whoever that idiot was who signed off on him that day.
Guy looks like his slinging a bowling bowl up there, which.is probably how it looks to opposition hitters.

Taylor and Smith can’t be out of the lineup the rest of the season. I wish I could say I want Lux in there but he’s been pretty blah unfortunately. Hopefully we see his real potential next year.....

It's shit or get off the pot time for Lux. Let him play his way in or out of the postseason lineup the rest of this week. This version of Lux shouldn't sniff the starting lineup and a case could be made that he shouldn't even make the roster.

yep a bench bat on the playoffs has to do one thing pretty damn good to be useful. Rios has power, Enrique has good defense and can hit a lefty, Joc has power/postseason pedigree.

although I’m a little confused how rosters work for playoffs. I’d read that we get 28 players, and then today I read pitching staffs get capped at 13 which means 15 position players, which is a 6 man bench lol.

I thought the pitcher cap was an idea they were trying to push for next year? With the idea being that less pitchers will lead to less pitching changes and shorter game times. If that's true though, then there are 2-3 wasted spots and we'd probably see Ruiz and Gore on the backend of the roster. A third catcher just in case and a pinch runner because why the hell not?

no clue, I'm thinking Passan made a mistake. I know the 28 is for sure, but the 13 pitcher cap I've only seen Passan say. would be pretty weird

Not that it'd necessarily be sustainable over 162 games, but the Dodgers win percentage projects to a 115-win season.
