i spent the whole day in downtown LA had been many many many years since i been to the city i felt like a tourist and an opie all at once surprised to see so little traffic and general dirtyness a lot seems to be homogenized and like painted over went around in circles following the street jaywalkers i ended up underground well below the street of olive then spent hours trapped inside a labyrinth of library standing naked in blue heaven sans hat and sunglass like a rube taking pictures of statutes and ordinances or a charl looking at bitches dressed in marble words sitting like a pig in shit having fun baking in the suns it made me wanna move to the city move to the city where it all began! reading the sign all the way upon bunker hill how the city was a christian protestant group but then the 'ladies' started to appear in town these 'ladies' as the paper called them constantly complained like modern karens they did not like the sweaty peasant people greasing up all the books in the library the paper had to remind them that los angeles was what the united states of america promised in los angeles the american experiment was no longer just a dream it was promised deliverance but these 'ladies' did not like it and so they were mocked relentlessly the local news media sometimes leading the charge on the lady nobs the ladies of course won and they turned bunker hill into steely nobs and thats what happens when the men let their 'ladies' take the wheel charity street sounded too much like the house of caridad and so it was changed to something more grandiose faith street was also to aspirational and easy to translate in the mind of a spanish speaking person of semper fe they changed that street name to flower but if only they had the faith of mustard they wouldnt have to demolish the mountains and the hills we call ravines so that new heavens and new earths can be manipulated and formed the only street that kept its name was hope as to an immigrant there the word makes no sense other than to hop and thats how you get your rocknroll which is a little son for when your cumbia goes zuc zuc zuc in your zoot suit mambo!
