I've been to Lake Isabella. Pulled some catfish outta there over 30 years ago. Nice lake.

yeah its still pretty nice and the Kern river is beautiful but the town around it appears to be dying
lots of for sale signs, places out of business and zero new construction that i saw
a whole lot of older folks that are really nice but it has that feeling of a town on its way out
was up there for the day to meet an old school friend i've known since i was 5 who's having cash flow issues
he was asking if i would be interested in financing a reverse mortgage on his place and i'd never seen it
been living there 3 years and hasn't done a thing to it and he has carpenter skills but also a penchant for the bottle
when his dad passed 5 years ago he left each of his 3 kids about 350k and he's spent it all on nothing more or less
would like to help him out but feel like increasing his monthly stipend would be a death warrant so its kind of hopeless
guy has no track record of responsibility so sadly its a no since i'd feel like i was enabling and profiting from his demise
oh and we need a leader for this team not davey

Second day in a row I missed much of the game. Only watched from the 9th on. Lucky me.

Got a decent outing from Body Aches. Pitching (Scott aside) was good enough.

The top five in the lineup.......1-25 and 0-6 with RISP coming off the top 6 going 2-22 with 0-6 with RISP on Tues. Until recently the hitters have masked the makeshift pitching staff. Not anymore and they face the Giants' best (Webb) on Friday night.

We've tossed around plenty of scenarios in here that would result in Roberts' firing. Short of assassination, I don't think anything, even a total collapse where LA fails to make the postseason, changes Scarecrow out with an improved skipper.

Regardless of what happens, I just like to aee some of these kids get PT, while a blown out knee for a Conforto and even a 60-day IL for Freddie & Mookie would open up spots for younger, hungrier talent.
