Hell of a start by Sheehan

Wonder if that weight gain has anything to do with him quitting the chew a few years ago?

Tidy effort from Sheehan (with a little help from his OF friends). 10 Ks and 1 walk and just two hits.

Pages likes him some Hunter Greene.

Mookie continues his recent surge and contributes a highlight reel play in the field as well.

Obviously, bases loaded no outs is the kiss of death for the Dodgers.
    Obviously.
But there's always hope when guys like De La Cruz are at ss.
Keep rolling...best time of year to get hot.

I'm still convinced that Dodgers read DSP. The left fielder took offense to me calling him Confortno yesterday.

So let's try this. Attention Will Ireton. Will Nohtani ever get a hit again when it actually matters?

So today was supposed to be Shohei's turn in the rotation, but it looks like he and Kersh are switching. CK today, Ohtani tomorrow. Did anyone hear the reason for this change?

Just thinking that old man Kershaw is faring pretty well in this 6-man rotation, so it seems like a bit of a gamble to cut his rest short by a day. I'm not sold on Ohtani being more a positive than a negative in the starting rotation, and even less so if he requires these types of special accommodations. True, his stuff can be filthy, but he hasn't made it to five innings yet, and it might just be my imagination, but he seemed like a more consistent hitter when that's all he was doing.

One option that I read was that Ohtani would be great in the closer role during the playoffs (especially if the other closers keep sucking), and to have that as an option I guess he needs to keep pitching now. It's tricky with the DH - if he takes the mound as a reliever and the game extends, once he's lifted for another reliever, he can no longer DH, so that's a risk. But his arsenal and velocity would fit well in that role.

Getting back to Clayton - I love what he's done for the team this year. Hoping the shorter rest doesn't affect his performance tonight. Dodgers need every win they can get at this point.

Ohtani as an opener might be better.
Not sure about warming up at random times during a game.

appears that double yesterday bought someone more playing time
i guess the 0-for-18 that preceded it was the anomaly

Fucken Roberts. His lineups are so frustrating.

Dodgers need this win. They cannot give up the division lead that was just earned yesterday. It's critical to build some momentum right now. Martinez has pitched the Dodgers tough so every advantage is necessary. Confortno is 0 for 3 with two strikeouts against him. Call is 2 for 4. Not a large sample size, but still, it's something. Why is it that Max or Kim or someone could have a big day, and they sit the next game, but Confortno gets rewarded with another start. Oh yeah, it's Robert's L/R platoon shit. So predictable. And too simple-minded to think beyond that.

If it weren't ridiculous to entertain an Art Bell-level cover up theory... I'd swear Roberts was a plant by MLB to keep the Dodgers down. Or Frisco.

His decisions are without peer as regards the ineptitude he exhibits.
