i had to close up shop in the middle of the day yesterday because one of my volunteers was being a little too hyper
he apologized and settled down

if a customer gets mad that he came to buy a book during his precious time off when im supposed to be open but im not there and the shop is closed oh well

im kinda addicted to them now though since i opened the bookstore
and since i been down in the city the past couple years
everywhere i go all i get is kind words
i liked being in the woods with the mountains and all but people are great
when i first moved in with my 'wild' dogs and my loud truck and all of my hillbilly ways i was the main villain of the neighbor app for months and my cars kept getting towed and i was the bad guy again
fast forward a few moments later and now i have people calling me a treasure of the community for what im doing
and they dont even know what im working on for the city
young girls call me daddy and young men come to me for advice on how to not be a simp and how not to feel bad over shit the government or your favorite institution or hero does

and the alphabet people consider me an ally even though im just as much of a hardass with them as i am with the boys and the girls
but im consistent
and that is more important than integrity because integrity speaks about YOU
but being consistent is integral to everyone involved
not just you but also them
my customers and the community around my shop

because the best way to bring some fresh creek water into my store
is to somehow manage to move the la river to pomona
spiritually speaking
