this is how dumb Dave is. We should be using Vesia to close. Get him acclimated. By far, hes the most reliable and stable out the pen....but he needed to close in a game like this. In the 9th, and no AB's left for us. Different pressure. Give him that run. Instead hes trying to see if Scott can get something back that hes never had this year.

I don't know what got into these fuckers but it is like it is contagious. Why is Tanner Scott spamming sliders way out of the zone against the bottom of their fucking order? Whose idea was that. Rortvedt can be held accountable for some of it. Hell Henriquez kept throwing cutters at 95 when he throws a 102 mph fastball. what kind of fucking sense does that make. Spoiler alert, it's way easier to hit HRs on 95 mph pitches than 102 mph ones. There is more room for error. The pitch calling in this game after Ohtani made no fucking sense, period. Tanner Scott thrived last year on fastballs up in the strike zone. His location this year has stunk so his solution is to spam sliders instead of working on fixing his fastball location. He threw 18 sliders in 21 pitches.

 

If Casparius isn't in AZ tomorrow, I'll know this franchise isn't taking anything seriously. Fake IL Scott and Treinen the rest of the season, DFA Yates. Sasaki, Casparius and if health permits Stewart should all be in AZ tomorrow and if health doesn't permit, make it Heaney.

 

Why Scott isn't using his fastball up in the zone is a mystery. Makes no sense.

 

They gave Vesia the meat of the order, which was the right call. He obviously wasn't sharp but got through it thanks to a heads up play by Rortvedt.

Scott got the lower part of the lineup and shit himself.
