Katie Woo: The Dodgers are signing Eric Lauer, sources tell The Athletic. Lauer, who played a big part in the Blue Jays playoff run, was DFA’d by Toronto last week. Pitched 8 games, made 6 starts. Gives Dodgers some options with their pitching currently relatively thin.

Didn't hear that ... but 20+ yrs ago at Coors Field, I endured 13 fUcKIN innings of 'ROXBEAT ROXBEAT ROXBEAT ... wtf does that even mean?

FWIW - never heard that chant again after that season. Maybe they lynched the guy. Who knows.

Really hope Sasaki keeps it up. Seems like a great kid who has all the tools to be great. Fingers crossed.

Zero walks??? Is this the same Sasaki or did the Dodgers acquire another with his namesake?

No Walki Sasaki. I like it. Yes it was the AAAngels, but you still have to throw strikes.

Almost felt sorry for the Angel starter. Battle back after almost years away from the game and get tagged for seven runs. Best of luck to him the rest of the way.

Scored 10 runs without a HR and went 7-11 with RISP.

This series aside, I would love to see a turnaround for the Angels. One of my best friend's sons is part of the analytics team for them. He came over with Minasian from Atlanta. Minasian is in the final year of his contract. Can't see Arte retaining him. Hoping my friend's son won't get swept out with him.

i wish them both the best
but i don’t see a turnaround with moreno in charge
he’s one of the biggest idiots to ever own an mlb team
if they do get their walking papers, it could actually be a blessing in disguise
maybe someone else will recognize their talents and hire them

Tatis hasn't homered all season so naturally he will hit 2 HRs in this series

    Merrill is at .206/.274/.329/.604

Nothing from Manny, Tatis and Merrill and they're only .5 back.

There's two ways you can think about this, and hopefully it's the former and not the latter:

    1. They're winning due to a combination of good pitching and luck (only +7 run differential while the 22-26 Mariners are +6)... and it won't last all season.
    2. If they've done this well with Manny, Tatis, and Merrill, and any or all of them start hitting, they'll be unstoppable.

have to prevent them from getting to mason miller
dude has appeared in 20 games, and only given up a run in one of them
if the padres get to the 9th with a lead it’s pretty much game over

Trevor Hoffman was pretty unhittable for the Padres too... then Kent, Drew, Martin, and Anderson came up down four in the ninth.

    knew it
false sense of security after sweeping the hapless angels
only the 5th, and i can tell one thing for certain… we aren’t scoring tonight
can’t wait for that hayseed mason miller to strike out the side in the 9th
