No, just to get guys an extra day of rest, particularly Kershaw and Greinke. The bonus is that both guys will pitch against STL.

Dont know... Just the sequence of the events seems odd..

I sort of get the "extra day" thing, but its odd that they do that a day after Cappy pitching. Some thoughts:

1) if they cut Marmol (guessing) and with Cappy unavailable to pitch (thinking he'll go to the bp afterwards) they will be one guy short in the bp for at least 4 games

2) there's supposedly 9 guys up for suspension, but only a few names out (Cruz, Cabrera, Peralta, ARod). There was a report about Melky and Bartolo not being suspended again.

3) the sequence just seems odd...

They're in the middle of a stretch of something like 26 games in 27 days, so there's no break in their schedule for the pitchers as there normally would be. They have the luxury of creating the breaks themselves with the extra arm, and so that's what they're doing. Nothing crazy about it.

If you're going to throw out a shit pitcher (no disrespect to Fife), might as well make it against the cubbies, who you still have a good chance to win against even with a handicap.

Ok I just looked on a sports site(I won't say the name) They are retarded they have Kershaw on Saturday Where it should be Greinke so does that mean Greinke will be Sunday?
you would think that Kershaw would be the one who would get extra rest not Greinke.

 

Everyone gets an extra day of rest. Greinke is going Saturday and Kershaw is going Sunday.
