    I don't know, I'd probably say hitter because he seems to be durable at the plate but I keep worrying he's going to throw his arm out again at some point.

    That said, he HAS been a great hitter the last two years (not so much presently). But one thing he's mostly not is a clutch hitter. Not to say there've been no clutch moments, but for as prolific as he's been at the plate, they're very rare. Think about it... how many times has he walked one off even with a base hit and gets mobbed by the team on the field? I can think of maybe once... no more than twice. More often than not, in high stakes ABs he seems to come up short. I can surmise with a high level of confidence that if Miggy Ro didn't' save the Dodgers season in the ninth inning of Game 7 last October, it would have ended with the next AB.

    I'd gladly give up 20 of his solo 440-ft bombs when up or down 8 runs for a few singles with RISP late in close games.

    For a great hitter he has some of the worst ABs you'll ever see. It's like he mentally checks out at times.

    i know i'm a broken record but remember when he first came over bunting was part of the repertoire and he did it fairly often compared to now
    w his speed its a lock for a hit 9/10 if he gets it down
    total mystery as to why he'd give up that aspect of his game for seemingly no reason

    Cubs are on a roll, and their offense is firing on all cylinders. Dodgers need to wake up and get up for this series, otherwise it will be another ugly one.

    As much as it is a pleasure to watch him pitch right now, I would rather Shohei be a great hitter ( which he certainly doesn't look like at all, right now, imo ) because he can help the team way more often knocking in runs, say 3 times a week, than he can pitching.
    At best, he can win only once every six days, and that all depends on a quirky, often flaccid lineup like what happpened the other night. Pitch a gem= no decision + team loss.
    Doesn't matter anyway...it's not going to ever happen.
