Every minute Joc occupies Toles’ spot is a crime

High launch angle idolization is over.
People that analyze already know this.
People who follow analytics still pray at the altar of high launch angle.

Even Trayce might have been a better guy to keep over Joc.

An interesting issue with the Friedman/Zaidi model is that it makes having a casual conversation about the team impossible. Usually you’re like “The Dodgers are good, our SS is Corey Seager” not “The Dodgers are good, we have 4 guys capable of providing 1-1.5 wins at 2B and LF so their combined depth is gonna make us win a lot of games”

I like A-Rod, but he has said multiple things where I’m just like “uhhhhh”.

Too many cooks in the kitchen on this ESPN broadcast for my liking. Growing up listening to Vin, 2 people in the booth is already pushing it. 3 is overkill.

Because he wants to bait the hitters ego.
"I can run on Puig" says the ego of the hitter.
"I got a good jump, I see some daylight" says the hitter.
"Puig misplayed the ball, I can get an extra base" the hitter says in his own hear.
Then Puig picks up the ball and kills his ego.
    And he says "Gotcha"

Noticed this during spring training when I’m listing 3-4 players to my buddies that will be playing second, left, and now third this season lol.

I usually have a hard time with the pitching staff...: “oh yeah Kershaw and Jansen are great and also, they’ve assembled an entire pitching staff that’s great at spinning the baseball and throwing high fastballs meanwhile maximizing defensive efficiency with their positioning”

It’d be great to have him play a similar role to Ross Stripling cause then they could both be used in different and flexible roles. But Font’s command doesn’t seem that great in the limited times I’ve seen him, and his stuff doesn’t make up for lack of command

You’re ignoring his own combination of stupidity and ego

Trying to figure out if these games are a reflection of how good the pitching staff can be or how bad the SF offense is despite the upgrades? Obviously the sample is way too small to say anything definitive either way, but 11 IP, 6H, 2BB and 7Ks is a good start for the bullpen.

Was his stupid ego in the way of todays win?

I'm glad someone got it. I like to go for ultra-obscure TV references.

I just have to say even though this series was a split, that the Giants fucking suck. Nothing they did impressed me outside of Cueto. They can't hit for shit, their bullpen is still shit and that rotation is gonna fall to pieces.

...not to dispute because they ARE shit but they did add Longoria and McCutcheon this off season

OK McCutcheon is getting long in the tooth but still reps progress over the past.
Still can't believe we were sooooooo inept in the first two games
just glad to win the next two so as to get some early mojo back

    fuckin Dodgers

I am in the same boat. His K rate at AAA last year was lethal, but man his appearances with the big club have left me scratching my head wondering how in the hell he was so dominant? His FB is either too close to the middle of the plate or not a strike at all, and MLB hitters just seem to spit on his breaking pitches. I have a hard time believing that he was like that in AAA and maybe he is just really struggling coming out of the pen.
