Kobe is probably the worst starter in the NBA right now.

Bad shooting, bad defense, he's a ball stopper the ruins the flow of the offense and makes his teammates worse.

    disagree
he's a shell of what he once was
they play differently when he's in the game, and the other players often defer to him out of respect/reverence

in that case we better cue up a raiders forum as well [IMG]

When do we start talking about protecting the first round pick again? Bottom 3, right?

I even went and looked up the numbers last night.
If the lakers are the worst team in the league (gonna be tough to catch Philly, but they can do it if Kobe stays healthy and keeps chucking): they have a 64% chance of staying top 3.
If they are 2nd worst (good probability of this): 57% chance of keeping the pick
    3rd worst: 46%
    4th worst: 37%
    5th worst: 29%

Pretty good chance the Lakers are going to end up with one of three worst records in the league, but probably not worst overall. So something around a 50% chance of keeping the pick.

so now youngster Nance is reported to have 'knee issues' and 'may' get sat for the remainder of the season?!?

Does sat = get medical treatment? I guess not because Nance is claiming that he can play today.

Bit of a cred problem there

Hate to see Hibbert play 16 minutes and grab 0 boards to go with 4 points

Nance also mailed it in tonight
and Clarkson shot bricks at 2-12

At least Kobe outscored LeBoner in their final meeting

    Lakers finally win another game...

Stay 2nd worst but allow kids to play... and the kids won.. whatayouknow

Randle Hits Big Shot in Lakers' 102-100 OT Win Over Heat
"After all the drama of another miserable day for the Los Angeles Lakers, Julius Randle's graceful spin move for the winning basket was a splash of pure beauty.

These young Lakers make plenty of mistakes — some more embarrassing than others.

They're also finishing a lousy season with reasons to be optimistic about their future.

Randle hit a tiebreaking hook shot in the paint with 1.9 seconds left in overtime, and the Lakers rallied late in a tumultuous day for a 102-100 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.

Jordan Clarkson scored six of his 26 points in overtime for the Lakers, who snapped a four-game skid with just their 16th win of the season. Los Angeles hung on for its second win in 10 games when Joe Johnson badly missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

"Adversity is always tough, especially with a group of young guys," said Kobe Bryant, who played only nine minutes in the first quarter before sitting out with general soreness. "There's always light, even when it's the darkest. Even when you can't see it at all."

D'Angelo Russell scored five of his 16 points in overtime after receiving light boos from Lakers fans at several points early in the night. The rookie guard apologized profusely before the game for recording an unflattering video of teammate Nick Young, the latest tawdry controversy in a tedious season.

Russell played splendidly down the stretch, and he dabbed with his teammates afterward.

"I felt like we had a whole bunch of motivation to pull one out," Russell said. "It was tough to a certain extent, but we've got a guy like Kobe that's been through everything, and he was like, 'You've got to just play. You've got to just play.' I just ran with it."

Russell said he has no idea how the video appeared on social media. Young, who was taped in a discussion of being with women other than his fiancée, didn't play for the Lakers for the 11th straight game.
