about now this guy is reminding me of Ewing w a briefcase negotiating the current bargain w ownership. we need to pay more cause we spend more.
Lakers may decide it best to punish everyone by not wasting their cap space and signing solid guys to bloated one year contracts then getting AD and Ben Simmons. LeBron and Magic can groom Simmons to be the future point PF taking over for LeBron. PG: Lonzo, Simmons SG: Ingram, Simmons SF: Kuzma, Simmons PF: LeBron, Simmons C : AD, Simmons A six man rotation of those guys would be tough.
At least someone agrees with me..... Trading young center Ivica Zubac to the Clippers to ‘rent’ power forward Mike Muscala doesn’t make much sense, Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report argues. Zubac could have been an inexpensive, long-term contributor for the Lakers, Pincus continues. He would have been a restricted free agent with a modest cap hold of $1.9 million. Muscala’s cap hold is $9.5MM and he might not be any more productive than Zubac would have been the rest of this season.
He does not know who else the Lakers plan to get to fill the last spot on the roster. They traded Zubac for the chance to add another impact player that fits their needs in the hopes of making the playoffs. PG: Lonzo, Rondo, Caruso SG: Ingram, KCP/Hart SF: Kuzma, Lance, Bonga PF: LeBron, Markief, Wagner C : Muscala, Javale/Chandler That first team can be run and shoot play fast and loose letting Lonzo start the break most of the time. Second team has is the more gritty defense/post/halfcourt team.
Pincus is the numbers guy I told you about. He doesn't get into basketball fits much, so he doesn't really agree with you. Numbers weren't a part of your argument. In fact, you wanted Marc Gasol..who holds a monster-sized cap hold, but only if he actually opts out. See Marc Gasol, in his age 35 season, could very well not opt out and eat up $25M+ ($38M cap hold) in cap space next season and LAL has FA plans in the summer
And throw Hart and his defense in there as well.. Adrian WojnarowskiVerified account@wojespn Lakers guard Josh Hart will sit out through the All-Star Break with patella tendinitis in his right knee, league sources tell ESPN. He will miss Tuesday's game with Atlanta.
Elton Brand apologized to Magic Johnson for insinuating Lakers' Ben Simmons call was unprompted http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...uating-lakers-ben-simmons-call-was-unprompted Pretty much what all these execs should be doing, TBH. You have no job at all if Magic doesn't save this league. If he wants to talk about your player, so be it. If your relationship with your player is so weak that he can tamper ( like everyone else does behind the scenes) and pull your best player away from you..well, then like an impotent husband - you weren't doing your job, were you? Get on your job. Satisfy your player.
D'angelo makes the all star team as a replacement and people just forget that he's a snitch that can't defend his position Let's see what Brooklyn is able to do with their cap space this summer..I have feeling the players haven't forgotten
Report: Jayson Tatum says he wouldn't mind going to the Pels for AD and being the face of the team there. Lmao Boston. Ainge and Stevens heralded as these geniuses and can't keep their stars happy? Kyrie is likely outta there and Tatum now looking elsewhere. They're in a race to see who gtfo there. Smh And I'm still waiting for Ainge to sign 1 superstar free agent. 1 championship in 15 or 16 years that he's been in charge there, and basically because McHale gift-wrapped Garnett and sent him there in a trade
If I'm Luke today, I'm moving Javale to the bench. It's been proven that his defensive impact is overrated and his offensive impact essentially makes LeBron less aggressive offensively. All LeBron seemingly wants to do the majority of the time with Javale on the floor is look for the lob and go to the skip pass once the help defense cuts the lob off. Time to get LeBron active as a scorer again, starting Muscala would give him the space to do that And if Javale pouts ( likely)..great. Demote his ass again and give Moe his shot. Hell, maybe even waive Javale and open up a 2nd roster spot so you can sign both Morris and another guy. Do something smart before you're outta here, Luke Harrison FaigenVerified account@hmfaigen Jason Kidd is the heavy favorite from Bovada to be the next Lakers head coach. You can also bet on LaVar Ball, Luke Walton and others Chris HaynesVerified account@ChrisBHaynes Free agent forward Markieff Morris visited Dr. Watkins today in Los Angeles regarding his neck and has been cleared to play, his agent Rich Paul tells Yahoo Sports.
"We have concluded that Magic Johnson's statements regarding Ben Simmons do not constitute a tampering violation," the NBA said Tuesday in a statement. "The Philadelphia 76ers initiated the contact with the Los Angeles Lakers by requesting a meeting between Johnson and Simmons. Both organizations ultimately concluded that such a meeting did not make sense at this time but in that context, Johnson's response to a media inquiry regarding Simmons does not run afoul of league rules."
They give up damn near 40 points to the Hawks in the 1st quarter..already 10 made 3pters for the Hawks Magic courtside to take it all in. He needs to waive somebody after this game. Somebody. They think they're safe now that the trade deadline had passed. Even with Zo and Hart out, that's ridiculous. Predictable and ridiculous. If they lose this game....
