Any clot can break loose and travel to your lungs/heart/brain and kill you. It’s some scary stuff. He’s gonna be on thinners for a bit. Then he’ll come off them. When it happens in young athletes it’s usually because of repetitive motions, swinging your arms a lot (which is why it is more common in baseball pitchers). He can’t play while on blood thinners because he’d be at risk for bleeding out if he even gets a little cut, and this is not a risk the Lakers or NBA is willing to take. And yeah as you said, they usually form due to previous injury, even though Ingram hasn’t really had any upper body injury who it is mystifying

I think that if this is not turned around fast (and maybe even if) these young Lakers will look at Russell and Randle and how bright they have shined out of LA and decide to sign elsewhere when their RFA time comes. Specially after the rumors of they all being trade bait to placate LeBron.
Instead surround the kids and LeBron with a bunch of white euro role players who can shoot and score.
Bojan Bogdanovic, Nikola Vucevic, Nikola Mirotic, JJ Reddick and big Boban at center.
Specially if everyones sweetheart Phil Jackson comes back.

    PG: Lonzo, Hart
    SG: Bojan, Reddick
    SF: Ingram, Kuzma
    PF: LeBron, Mirotic
    C : Vucevic, Boban

BTW this would be a pretty perfect triangle offense team.

    Mebron thoughts in the media...

Bleachreport.com "LeBron 'Throwing People Under the Bus' Like Never Before, and NBA Is Baffled"

Clutchpoints.com "NBA executive thinks Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan would’ve handled current situation better than Lakers star LeBron James"

ESPN.com "Kyrie Irving has been captain of what, at times, has been Team Turmoil. It has been one of his primary takeaways from his time with LeBron James."

Right coast media are having a field day getting to roast Mebron AND the Lakers at the same time

Just about the way you expected the rest of the season to play out, saving the most serious health related issue for last.
And now Ingram is stuck a Laker. Fuck.

wont matter anyway. We will not win a championship with lebron. I can see us make the playoffs next couple years. Maybe have a chance one of those years at the wcf, but that's it.

anyone that knows basketball is aware lebron is aging fast. Physically and mentally. He will still be able to put up good umbers but will he be able to surrender the team to a younger star? Will he go play d and not worry about conserving his body as much so he can break more records or possibly play a year with his son? Will basketball be his professional priority or will he continue to branch out to the record industry and hollywood? Will he still have a burning desire to win or is he content with personal numbers and realize he has 3 ships and brought one to his hometown and nothing will top that?

I dunno. I just dont see us really being contenders during lebron's illustrious career farewell tour.

in retrospect, Leonard should have been our priority and there is no doubt he would come here next year without lebron. Now, no way.

I guarantee you at this point in their careers leonard would have led us to the playoffs no matter the head coach, front office issues and injuries. Hes a quiet leader that plays his ass off on the court. Not to mention his d and physical talents.

I'm not faulting them bringing in lebron. I mean of course they had to, but that doesnt mean unfortunately for this franchise it was the wrong move in the short term and eventually long term due to the rush to win and win during brons last years.

    and they deserve it
today the "king" played defense and hustled in his limited minutes
and mark jackson aptly stated that it should stand to reason a team of integrity should always play like that no matter what
meeb hasn't been doing that very well, and even worse, is pointing fingers at his team
i mean, i get it if he's frustrated w how the team plays at times but throwing his arms around and shaking his head, sitting way off the bench
thats some bush shit from a guy who's supposed to lead by example
unbridled hubris as he claims he is the GOAT and weeps in his towel at his milestones
jackson was also pointing out the guy needs to take responsibility when he's wrong but that's clearly asking too much
maybe time that boy from akron started acting like the man amongst boys he claims he is

That you still believe Popovich was ever going to trade Kawhi to the Lakers is a tragedy in itself

Zo also shut down for the season, officially. Never to be coached by Luke again.

Zu was available because he can't even pretend to guard pick and rolls at the top.
He's going to be a decent offensive player, but he can't play extended or key minutes, since he'll give up more on D than he'll ever contribute on offense.

Oh, you through me off when you said " should have ". Thought you meant they should have went harder for Kawhi when he was on the trade block.

Either way, I'm taking AD + Bron over Kawhi and the unknown. AD is landing because of LeBron. I'm not that big of a prisoner of the moment guy. They could've finished this season better and still blown the roster up because if you can add a couple veteran stars around LeBron, that's what you do if you want to win. Kids don't win.

    https://bleacherreport.com/articles...ed-pleas-to-re-sign-brook-lopez-julius-randle

    in the brutal truth category...

Brook Lopez and Julius Randle are enjoying productive seasons for the Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans, respectively, but the Los Angeles Lakers' coaching staff reportedly wanted President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson to keep them in purple and gold.

According to Bill Oram of The Athletic, Johnson "ignored the pleas of the coaching staff that he retain" the two bigs following the signing of LeBron James and instead added JaVale McGee, Michael Beasley and Lance Stephenson.

The report comes amid speculation surrounding the future of head coach Luke Walton, with Oram noting that firing Walton "would cause considerable heartburn for officials within the organization who, according to team sources, continue to advocate for him."

The pair of frontcourt players surely would have helped a Lakers team that is among the league's most disappointing this season. Even with James leading the way, Los Angeles is a mere 30-36 and 7.5 games behind the Los Angeles Clippers for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with just 16 games remaining.

The playoffs are an absolute long shot at best at this point, but that may not have been the case with Lopez and Randle instead of the journeymen Johnson turned toward... ... As for Randle, he is averaging 20.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for the Pelicans as a constant double-double threat who appears to have a bright future at 24 years old.

Unless Johnson and the Lakers are able to add marquee pieces this offseason before James turns 35 years old in December, they do not share that bright future in the loaded Western Conference.

    Ingram. Lonzo. Caruso
    LeBron. Kcp. Svi
    Kuzma. Hart. Bonga
    Randle. Wagner. Williams
    Lopez. Zubac. Bryant

    That team makes playoffs.
Even through injuries to LeBron and sixth man Lonzo.
All your 7 footers are kinda soft in the post. Randle is there to do the dirty work so they can be offensive threats.

All they would need to then is wait for AD and stay as is or go for one of the max players available this off-season.
Either way the team would be competing along the way.

After this current shitstorm I'm guessing most upcoming FA will steer clear of the Lakers and we are married to wait another year for AD or trade the farm for him.

Fake news. I'm supposed to believe that they couldn't trade for AD at next year's deadline, or sign him outright as a FA after next year, and still have a bright future with him as the key piece moving forward beyond LeBron's 35th birthday? Prisoners of the moment - take 1,001.
