They're not going to find anybody out there like Dwight in free agency. Even at his age.

Serge Ibaka would probably be the closest guy in terms of quality. But not as strong as Dwight..doesn't carve out space inside like Dwight, and his defensive ceiling isn't as high as Dwight's. But Ibaka would stretch the floor on the offensive end and he does at least a decent job of protecting the rim. He may be too light in the ass to leave 1 on 1 with Jokic though..

    They have left BBB.
Now its just about punishing the kids for the dad's sake.
Or punishing the organization if LaMelo turns out to be the next generational talent.

The Clippers have interest in signing the Lakers' Rajon Rondo, league sources say, and are expected to pursue Rondo when free agency opens in November

    Marc Stein@TheSteinLine
The Lakers are naturally determined to re-sign Rondo, who played a huge role in their playoff run, but the Clippers are eager to upgrade at point guard. Rondo has said he is planning to test the open market, which means declining his §2.7 million option for next season

Hmm. If Ballmer really wants him and if Playoff Rondo wants to play more it might happen. Would probably mean the Clips trade Beverley or Lou cause they're not gonna scare anybody worth noting having three 6'0" guys getting starter's minutes in their rotation. This is basketball. It helps to be tall.

Would hate to lose Playoff Rondo but I could see him wanting the challenge of making the Clips a winner. Helped Boston get their 17th, helped LAL get their 17th..help the Clips get their 1st? That'd be tremendous no doubt. But it's easier to contain Dickhead Rondo with a cast full of vets that know how to handle themselves..and the Clips don't have that luxury. And of course the bald eagle would just take Playoff Rondo down if he ended up with the Clips so it really doesn't matter

Place your bets. Seems like LAL is using Windhorst to let Rondo know - " look, bro..we're doin this thing with or without you, Avery Brady and whomever else decides they don't want on the bandwagon "

I don’t see how the Clips can re-sign Harrell and sign Rondo to a multi year contract for decent money. If I were Rondo, I’d stay with the Lakers with a bump in pay.

But whatever. Who knows what the Clippers will look like after this off-season. I can’t believe that Rondo would want to go to a team like that minus Harrell.

Clippers are a tax team I think. They can offer trez a max deal with bird rights. Then the most they could offer rondo is the taxpayers MLE

Questioning Rube is how you feed the Rube and make the Rube grow big and strong like bull.
Fuck, now i'm talking in the Rube person.
I think you might have triggered a rant.

I don't personally like loudmouths like father Ball.
There shouldn't be more than one loudmouth in any 360 feet perimeter area anyway. :D
I do like how he made a name for his kids. And I do like the storyline of a father pimping himself up grabbing all the spotlight and taking all the aggro from the media to strategically make the paths for his kids to get the challenges they need but the best possible treatment and benefit of the doubt because of how terrible they perceive their childhood to have been under crazy daddy Ball.
As one of the color guys here on DSP my style does not have to stick to the facts.
My particular color style is that I think of sports as if they are a TV show that is written and produced like SNL or Sabado Gigante.
And like any good TV show you want programming that resonates with the audience. It doesn't really matter as much initially if it resonates negatively instead of positively. There will be an audience for your color scheme.
So for me the 3 Ball brothers playing on the same team and fulfilling their fathers wish of getting him to the promised land of all 3 playing for LA and winning championships and becoming star players for the Lakers. Lavar essentially sacrificed himself to the media gods and got destroyed but his kids pass through the gauntlet of the media and don't get stuck between the rock and the sinking whirlpool of chaos that is the social life temptations of a young star pro athlete multi millionaire.
    I like that storyline.
    I think it sells.
It may initially resonate for the wrong reasons.
But this storyline will get over.
There is not much difference between the NBA and the WWE.
    Its sports entertainment.
Sure there is no outright collusion between the two teams on a particular night.
But overall there is collective bargaining between the teams and revenue sharing.
When you see a manager like Kevin Cash take out his SP that is dealing it makes you wonder.
2020 was destined to be the Dodgers year. It was already written in the cards.
So Kevin had to do his part if he wanted to cash that check.
Like Davey Robots been doing since he got plugged in.
Sometimes you just gotta wait your turn.

Would laugh so hard if they forked over big money to Harrell. Old man Millsap ran wild on that dude to get the Nugs' 3-1 comeback underway. Clips truly have issues

When he retired he was the third leading rebounder of all time behind a couple of guys named Russell and Wilt. He was 6-5.

As far as money goes, wouldn't put it past Ballmer sweetening the pot for Playoff Rondo in some form or fashion. Moneybags has been throwing his $$$ at anything that moves - or anything that the Lakers are interested in. Lakers want Paul George..Ballmer gets Paul George. Lakers want Kawhi Leonard..Ballmer gets Kawhi Leonard. Lakers interested in Ty Lue..Ballmer tabs Ty Lue as coach. Ballmer's just sniffing LAL's ass at this point. Could certainly see Ballmer going out of his way to add Playoff Rondo, and it'll be the wrong move again. Actually wouldn't shock me if LAL leaked their interest in retaining Rondo in order to push Ballmer's buttons and keep him busy. Lol Wouldn't surprise me at all if LAL were already off Rondo

Would place my bet on Derrick Rose to LAL being the trade that's on hold. Not that it'll happen for sure..feels like other things have to fall in place 1st for it to go down. Have to imagine that LBJ and AD believe they can add another refurbished former star and win with him as well. Would probably even bring some additional hunger to the team with everyone likely wanting to win 1 for Rose to sort of complete his career. Rose played with LBJ in Cleveland and has the Chicago connection with AD and Horton-Tucker. He's proven that he can play a solid % of reg-season games over the last 4 or 5 years..would be no more worried about Rose getting hurt than I would Rondo at this point. And LAL was last among all teams in the NBA in driving %, so they could use an efficient slasher/playmaker. He's got a solid corner 3pt shot as well. Also don't think it'd take much to get Rose. Probably the late 1st. Would rather they give up the 1st rd pick than send a Talen Horton-Tucker that they've invested so much time in. Of course, Caruso is off the table. Should be cap filler + 1st rd pick. Maybe Avery Bradley + the pick, after he opts into his contract? Or perhaps they'll look at Kuz's contract situation coming up and decide they want to ship him to DET and just replace him with the MLE..keeping the 1st rd pick out of the Rose trade and adding another cheap, young asset to go along with Horton-Tucker. Kuz for Rose and a 2nd rd pick works well enough as well

Looks like Tristan Thompson is on the board. Wouldn't mind some of those offensive rebounds.

    Wish he could replace Javale

I think it would be better not to trade Kuz for Rose but I really like the idea of getting Rose for a1st round pick + filler.
Or work a deal out for Kelly Oubre that sends Kuz and the pick and Cook and anyone thats not part of the untouchables list to the suns.
They should pay Rondo and Dwight and bring in veterans to fill in with the minimum.

Solid chance the Nets struggle defensively given that coaching staff....Lakers really could use a quality, young guard that can light it up offensively and go after Dinwiddie/Levert/Irving

So CP3 prefers LA or NY....likely targeting Lakers, obviously. Kendrick Perkins says he's 85% sure that CP3 lands with LAL through trade or buyout. I'll get behind a CP3 trade to the Lakers on one condition....OKC also sends the great Lu Dort
