    I always cringe at the "have you seen my cat?" posts. Where we live, if it's been more than a few hours since you last saw your cat, a coyote had a nice warm meal.

    like everyday. i'm against the foothills too and coyotes have started wandering all times of day in populated neighborhoods. small animals are on the menu. between the owls and red tails i hardly see rats these days. love that. and the cat ladies want someone to cull the coyotes. fuck that. keep your animals inside especially at night. those things hunt like velociraptors.

    I made that post yesterday, and today the sextet combined for the following:

    12 hits in 29 ABs
    11 runs
    11 RBIs
    5 doubles
    2 HRs
    3 steals

    I wouldn't want to live in the midwest, but if I did, I'd definitely be catching some of their games.

    Serwinowski's performance was pedestrian at best. Miller and Leiter were effective, albeit in relatively short outings. The best of the four was Jang as he followed his gem up with another impressive start: 5 hits and 2 runs over 5.1 innings. 10 strikeouts with no walks.

    Still waiting on MLB Pipeline to do their post-draft rankings adjustment, but Baseball America did theirs, and Dodgers have seven prospects in the top 100:

    • 4th: Josue De Paula OF
    • 16th: Eduardo Quintero OF
    • 19th: Mike Sirota OF
    • 24th: Christian Zazueta RHP
    • 29th: Emil Morales SS
    • 67th: Zach Root LHP
    • 89th: Charles Davalan OF
    Good to see Zazu and Davalan making big moves, Root too. By the way, Davalan was named the Midwest Player of the Month for July. He's on a crazy tear that saw him record 10 consecutive multi-hit games. That got snapped on Tuesday but then yesterday he got 3 hits. 7 doubles and 5 HRs also during the dozen games so it's not just base hits.

    What adjustment???

    After his 0-5, 4 K debut, Elkins is 8 for 20. Either his adjustment period was super short, or it's a case of rising tides lifting all boats as this offense is on fire. I'm leaning towards a mix - less of an adjustment needed because this is his fourth year in the minors, but also getting better pitches when the guys around him are hitting.

    Wow, this was out of the blue, at least for me! Just a few days ago I looked for an update on Gavin Stone and found nothing. Assumed he wouldn't be back until next year.

    He's on the mound right now for OKC.

    • 1 ER
    • 0 BB

    Home Run, Double, Single in his first 3 ABs. I was hoping for the cycle but they didn't give him the chance, walking him in his final 2 at bats.

    Root looked good, too. He did surrender 3 runs in his 6 innings, but only on 5 hits. 10 K's with no walks. 62 of 93 pitches were strikes. His best outing yet since the promotion to AA.

    @MLBPipeline
    Emil Morales mashes his third home run in as many games!

    The @Dodgers' No. 4 prospect has hit 15 of his 21 homers this season for the High-A @greatlakesloons.

    That really sucks. Seemed like he was doing okay since his return, albeit with fewer steal attempts, but a few days ago I noticed he went back on the IL. I hope his speed fully recovers after surgery.

    @InfiniteDodger
    Look, I love Josue De Paula as a hitter... But he can be an absolute butcher in the OF.

    Here, with 2 outs, the go-ahead run scores from first on a routine pop up to shallow LF
