lol, would be funny if we shipped rollins back to philly in a hamels deal :giggle:

Jimmy Rollins said he hadn’t thought much about playing his old team, the Phillies, until it happened Monday night. But there is apparently one Phillies-related item that the Los Angeles Dodgers’ shortstop has thought about -- being teammates with Cole Hamels again.

“Maybe, maybe not,” Rollins said with a sheepish grin when asked if he’s spoken with Hamels.

It’s no secret that Hamels could be traded in the coming weeks. The Dodgers have long been mentioned as a potential trade partner. Rollins is in favor it.

“That would be nice,” he said. “That would be nice. Cole would be close to home. We know what type of pitcher he is, especially in big games. He wants those games. You have two big-game pitchers that are already here, so that would be three, and that's one heck of a combination."

    Please get Cole Hamels.

Really, really hoping teams think highly of De Leon, Holmes, and bellinger. That, plus 2-3 lesser guys, getting us 2 pitchers would be phenomenal.

3 months ago, I would say no deal for Puig, but more and more, he's starting to remind me of Raul Mondesi. I'd say Hamels is not enough straight up for Puig. Need to throw in a decent middle reliever. Got to milk that "perception" as a star for all it's worth.

BTW, who plays right field. We need someone with a cannon for an arm.

I think we can get production in terms of batting, but not so sure about the fielding.

    Hell no, but that's me.

If we trade Puig I want young controllable prospects. Hamels is too old and is declining already.

Papelbon? Lol But no, I agree to an extent. I'd like to see some controlled everyday talent coming back for Puig and not just arms. Personally, UCLs and Tommy Johns frighten the hell out of me. Either that or they agree to take Ethier along with Puig.

Scott Van Winkle has been pretty good in the OF this year. Keep Puig tho.

I wouldn't. I would look to add to that deal but the Phillies have nothing lol

I really hope they decline to do business with Amaro this time around. I mean, what sense does it make that Hamels isn't already on this team? All those talks between the two clubs last winter and waiting for the Kemp/Rollins thing to be completed and I'm supposed to believe that Hamels wasn't a target back then or that they didn't discuss Hamels?

I like Hamels a lot and he's under control going forward, but Amaro's trying to save his job with some unicorn type of a trade and hopefully nobody helps him let alone sends him a Puig on that kind of valuable contract. I'd hate to see our youngsters thriving in Philly just about as much I'd like to see Hamels in our rotation. A championship would make it better for a little while, but the conflict is real in Philly's case...for me at least.

If Puig was to go to Philadelphia, I'm pretty sure he'd more HRs than he does now.
Definitely better than warning track power there...

    No.

I still think that "IF" Puig gets his shit together then he could become a HoF talent and those do not get traded

re puig in a deal for hamels -- and i realize i'm in the minority -- i would [at the very least] consider it
    and i'd probably do it

    preparing for the onslaught :duck:

Not much onslaught when one considers how poorly Puig has been hitting lately... .175 over the last 18 games they said last night

    No way, to me.

Think of it this way, IMO. If you trade Puig, you want a package similar to the one that gets at least two of Urias, Seager, Pederson deals. And you wouldn't wanna touch that for Hamels.

A 24 year old, cheap and good defensive outfielder with a career .879 OPS in 2+ years in a pitching oriented environment is as elite an asset as you can get. Yeah, maybe we all think he should do better and he does silly things and he can look bad, but him not being what we all want always seems to obscure how good he's been.

I only move him for an elite young starter, Chris Archer, Sonny Gray, etc. and then add another good prospect to offset the larger risk with pitchers and the rarity of good offense and abundance of good pitching.

I still wouldn't move him for much though, and highly doubt anything serious of moving him happens until he's like 29 and they want to be very proactive about a possible decline

I'm sure some would trade Puig for Shields and Chinchilla Kemp.

Here's the thing, to me: you trade Urias before you trade Puig. And I could develop an argument for Seager also

    really?
i get it because neither [urias/seager] has played in the bigs yet so they're unproven
but i'm also factoring in the alleged problems with puig; tardiness, conflict with others, etc
out of curiosity, what/whom would you trade puig for?

I'd say mondesi projected a lil better than puig at this point. Maybe even when you consider that was the roids era. Puig is still super young, cheap, and has all star years ahead no doubt. But I'd seriously consider a deal for cueto and Chapman. Bring up Oliveira to make up for some righty offense. Maybe Turner can pick up some LF? Just not sold on puig as a cornerstone of our offense yet. He could prove me a fool
