I've read that both Butera and Fedex are weak offensively and strong defensively forever. Don't piss on my head and tell me it's raining.
I think that "catcher's interference" Fedex and "past ball" Butera are mediocre defensively, from what I've seen, and have poor blocking skills most of the time. The arms are showing as average, and that's their plateau, let's face it. Neither is Charles Johnson.
Butera is a slightly better hitter than Fedex, but both are holes in the lineup.
After watching the play of both, it's hard to understand why almost anybody else isn't welcomed with open arms right now, at least until the Ned scrub fades as usual.
These two fucking guys make Russel Martin look like Roy Campanella.

    the catching position giveth
    the catching position taketh away
yes olivo made an error, but he came up huge offensively
and butera's unexpected bomb ended up being the difference in the game
3-for-7 collectively, more production from our catchers in quite some time
fedex will never, ever, be a front line starter
and, from what i've seen, his defensive prowess is average
butera and olivo are what they are, suitable journeymen back-up's
but wait til aj comes back
let's face it, catching isn't our strong spot
but if everyone else is clicking, aj/butera aj/fedex aj/olivo is acceptable

Shit, bro, if everybody on this team is clicking the way they all have at least once in their careers, it's OK if we start Red Patterson every five days. I agree.
I'd like to see Olivo at least get as much of a shot as Fedex did; he can get a hit a week, too....I'm sure.

Another Cub outfielder pulls a hammy on TV while I am watching. Wonder if there's anyone on that team we could use not named Starling Castro or Mike Rizzo.

    • Dodgers GM Ned Colletti says that he is still interested in trying to lock up another pending free agent, shortstop Hanley Ramirez, according to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times. Ramirez took the top spot in MLBTR’s list of the top 2015 free agents heading into the year. While he has struggled at the plate recently, Ramirez still owns a .257/.339/.447 slash with five home runs and three stolen bases through 171 plate appearances, though defensive metrics have been down on his work in the field in the early going. “He’s still somebody we’d love to have back,” said Colletti, who noted that he has conveyed that continued interest to Ramirez’s representation.Dodgers GM Ned Colletti says that he is still interested in trying to lock up another pending free agent, shortstop Hanley Ramirez, according to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times. • While the Dodgers were warming up for their game against the New York Mets, Los Angeles' Justin Turner sent a ball flying into left field that hit Clayton Kershaw on the leg (Video HERE).
