    Maybe, maybe not. LAD certainly tried to add Andrew Miller in FA. Would've been interesting to see what he could've done in those spots. Either way, doesn't excuse choking

    So as the inability to assemble a bullpen likely costs this team a postseason appearance, we go into the off-season with roughly $123M committed to 2019 for tax purposes ($93M if Kershaw should opt out). This will have to be an active off-season in all phases of the game, or many will be upset (myself included), because the whole point of getting under the tax was to be able to be more active this winter.

    And they appear to have punted a season in order to get under said tax.

    Machado and Dozier will be expensive to resign. To the eyes of the FO these guys will still be new hires if we resign them. So resigning them and solidifying the bullpen might be what is 'active' for them.
    But who knows... they might decide to trade Puig and Verdugo plus some prospects for DeGrom and sign Bryce Harper.

    We need pitching so bad......an 8th innings guy or guys who can spot close. But if we cheaped out this year to stay under the luxury cap, then we'd better spend on anyone and everyone that will give us pitching and hitting and keep MM and Dozier. I'm sick of taking one step forward and the 2 back.

    This sucks.

    I was working in the Bay Area and San Diego this week.

    Really glad I went to the Oakland A’s game. Was a lot of fun.

    Really glad work ran late and I decided to leave early for LA last night, because if not, I woulda gone to the Padres game and had to deal with their terrible team laying down to the D-backs.
