No one helped her due to her white privilege. She probably layered in the butter too like the entitled white American moviegoer she is.
In my day you only fell to the floor at the movies when it was a black movie and the bros pull out the nines.

    • “I liked the [Padres] game plan, from ownership to front office to the coaching staff to the players. The whole ‘shabam’ was so perfect […] Very blessed to be in this position […] I’m proud to be a Padre. At the end of the day this is where I wanted to be, and I’m very happy to be here.”

He says that but Bryce and Boras are probably going to want the players to go on strike if he cant get 300M from the team he really wants.
If they go on strike the owners should redo the payment system for players in the minor leagues.
Every time a player gets promoted to a higher league he should automatically get bumped up in pay.
The promotion would indicate that he has played well enough to earn the promotion so going up a pay level makes sense.
When you bring in a foreign player from china or cuba or whatever he has to start at AAA.
AAA is the finishing school where the best of the best prospects sharpen their skills with players that have MLB experience or who are MLB ready as well.
In AAA when the prospect is ready to enter the MLB his contract matures into a 'rookie contract' like the NBA where the player starts earning millions for the next 4 years with a 5th option guaranteed no matter what happens.
That way players enter true free agency right as they enter their prime and can maximize their earning potential.
Like Verdugo would already be on a multimillion 5 year deal and the team would have that pressure to play him in the majors.
If they don't not only are they losing money but losing service time years.
Verdugo would be about to go into his third year of control in this system.
He should have been paid for his potential on THAT contract,
So when the fourth year comes and he breaks out he can take his option hoping he does not have a sophmore slump.
But if he does not want to risk it he can cash in and sign a new 5 year deal where he could get that 300M contract.
Bryce Harper would have gotten that money if he was a FA after his MVP type season.
He probably wont get it now after some slump seasons.

Class organizations give their face of the franchise types big paydays towards the end of their careers.

Honestly, CK’s step back is not surprising at all. We saw evidence of velo drop and the injury bug last year, and how more unstable and inconsistent he was in the playoffs and WS. His opting out but extending for about the same amount of money was another clue CK felt that this was the beginning of the end.

Why the FO didn’t try to address this (yet) in the off season is a glaring issue. Now getting a Keuchel or Kimbrel will become extra expensive in trying to shore the pitching situation. If hitting wasn’t going to be your focus, pitching should be.
