I'll throw shit either way, because fuck the Dodgers if they did it too.

Ban Roberts and Friedman, suspend Turner and Bellinger, strip our NL West division titles, a cheat is a cheat. I didn't cheat. You didn't cheat. It isn't hypocrisy if your team cheated as long as you call them out too, and I'll be damned if I'm going to act like the POS Astros fans who are in denial saying "Oh it's just Yankees and Dodgers fans complaining because they are butthurt". Fuck the cheaters, all of them.

The comic image I have about all this is some camera guy for each team trying to set up the camera in each stadium for the best view of the catcher’s position.

Those guys probably saw each other multiple times and probably what each were doing. I doubt there are a lot of places with the best views, so they must have clamored for the same seats/positions in the outfield.

Just check the game day ticket prices for each game in each stadium....see if there is a price spike.

I’ll be both surprised and annoyed if we weren’t doing something shady as well

I think something of this nature needs to happen. The way to combat technology is with technology - it will be a major change to the game, but I think we are past the point of no return. The Astros got caught because they banged trash and and everyone in the dugout knew about it, but if one player and his buddy wanted to figure out a way to steal signs and keep it to themselves they would have a much better chance of getting away with it.

Back to the Nelson news. I think that's an interesting move. No risk whatsoever. Potentially rewarding for both parties. If his arm and his head gets right he will be a nice guy to take some innings off of the young arms.

    Kasten is a bitch
I hope the renovations get delayed by red tape and weather so it's not ready by opening day and the all star game is revoked.

That'd be pretty embarrassing considering the Brewers had one of the worst rotations I've ever seen for the NLCS and we were still striking out a million times.

The Mets, Brewers and Rockies have all insinuated that the Dodgers had to be stealing signs based on our AB’s in a series against them at one point and how we’re basically unbeatable at home. Spilly mentioned it on air a year or two ago that the Rockies felt something was up, but hasn’t really talked about it again recently. The big difference between us and the Sox/Stros are as of yet, the complaints are all supposedly from outside the organization and/or we haven’t been caught red-handed. Also, compared to those teams, I think we struck out significantly more than they did. If I’m remembering this correctly, both teams saw HUGE turnarounds in their K numbers from the year before, while we’ve remained pretty steady.
I’d be super worried if a guy left and immediately stopped performing and while Puig saw his production drop, Yaz actually improved... problem is the Brewers have also been hinted at as an org that bends the rules. My other takeaway is, would Turner Ward have signed off on the massive Puig trade knowing that his numbers were aided by cheating? Not likely, and he was said to be one person behind the scenes championing the deal.
Something else to take note in all of this, while the Dodgers are much better at home, it’s actually the pitching that drives those numbers. Some of the Dodgers best hitters over the last couple of years are actually worse at home than on the road. Take into account that this has not been the case for the Astros.
One thing I’ve heard is the Dodgers are better at stealing signs when on the bases. The club has targeted smarter, high baseball IQ types more recently and this could be a correlation to that, not to mention the Dodgers base coaches have been heavy favorites for head coaching positions around the game in recent seasons. Them looking in and stealing signs is not seen as cheating within other clubhouses.
And finally, the Dodgers employ one of the best former players in the game at reading a pitcher in Chase Utley. It’s basically his only job that we know of, so it’s realistic that the club has a book on every pitcher in the game beyond their repertoire.
I’m not saying that we are in the clear, but the Dodgers haven’t exactly shown the same signs of cheating that these other teams have.

That Spilborghs would take this tact isn't surprising. He's not exactly enamored with the Dodgers.

I've heard the same suspicions from former Giant Jeremy Affledt on Bay Area radio. Another Dodger hater.

Might some element of truth in their accusations, but they have to be taken with a grain of salt considering the sources.

My opinion has always been that if you steal signs by no other means than unaided, careful observation, that’s the other team’s mistake and fair game. You should have switched up signs then.

It’s like a pitcher tipping his pitches. No one moans about that.

Using a high tech camera, visual monitoring system is bush league. Not saying the Dodgers didn’t do something similar, but I think that would have been really hard in such a symmetrical, relatively simple, and quite old and familiar stadium like Dodger stadium.

As for Affeldt, kinda strange how guys like Scutero, Ishikawa, Sandoval, Pagan, and more were so clutch with the Gnats and sucked everywhere else (well Panda was just a fat ass, but just saying).

If you've got proof or if a former Dodger says they stole signs then by all means cast stone. If not, get the fuck out of here with that bullshit.

Wouldn't put anything past anyone in this sport. LAD had fallen short in the postseason 5 years in a row by 2018. Could desperation have been setting in after that much failure? Mets and ROX also accused them and those were regular season allegations, so it goes beyond the Brewers' accusation in the postseason.

That said, this ownership group doesn't really give a damn about winning the World Series and so you'd have to imagine them catching wind of it and stopping it - if it was going on.
