Yeah, he’s played almost 200 games at third in the minors. The bar is so low…why not see what he can do with numbers like that? Hard to be worse than what we have seen

No no, that would make too much sense. We definitely shouldn't see what Vargas can do either.

We should keep running CT3, Kike and Lux out there for at least 6 free outs a night. Really just want to make sure their feelings don't get hurt.

    Sure?

    @JeffPassan
The Los Angeles Dodgers are acquiring superutilityman Cavan Biggio in a trade from the Toronto Blue Jays, sources tell ESPN.

Biggio, 29, was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays last week. He’s hitting .200/.323/.291 this year and .227/.343/.382 for his career.

We've already got those numbers covered with Kike, Taylor and Lux.

Not sure what they see in him.

There's been a slow leak in his numbers since his rookie year (2019).

I assume he's either going to AAA or the team is ditching CT. No way he can be on the roster the same time as Taylor and Kike, right? I mean, how many no-bat utility players does one team need?

    What an absolute joke.

    Taylor OPS .307
    Kike OPS .591
    Vargas OPS .854

But let's send down the guy who's actually hitting.

now they'll send him to the Cubs for an A level prospect since Busch has cooled off

I want to laugh at this, but I'm a little worried that it could happen.

If anything, Dodgers should've traded for Bichette, who's having a down year. Then move Mookie back to right, DFA Taylor, let Kike and Rojas platoon at third until Muncy returns, and stop all these shenanigans once and for all.

do you think this is all Friedman?
seems obvious to even the casual fan that the whole Mookie at ss thing was a mistake but no ones backing down
can't believe its just Mook and tater making the decision on it

I bet Potatohead is excited about this. Now on Barnes days, he can also start Taylor, Kike... and Biggio.

This is the first time in a while (maybe ever) where I've truly felt the front office has no idea what they are doing.

Lets bring in another shitty infielder with an ops around .600, and not play a guy who could provide better production (better yet, lets just get him off the roster and option him down to AAA!). Biggio is the fucking AL version of Lux.

Are we trying to break the record for most shitty infielders (or utility guys) on one MLB team? Kike, Taylor, Lux, Rojas and Biggio (Rojas is lucky because he's hitting okay right now, but he will regress to the mean.)

Absolute clown show across all levels of management right now.

100% agree. Solid post, my friend.

Wife and I have this talk often: while we struggle on a meager budget to balance the costs of raising our kids, building our respective biz, and saving $$$ for tomorrow, we see single or zero parent families around us making 20X our income pissing away money on horrible landscaping, gaudy architectural choices, and vulgarian culinary presentations at lavish events. If we had 10% of their financial freedom, we'd make so much more of it. But that's life.

LA has had everything a team needs to raise five+ WS trophies the last decade, and another three in the NEXT five years - minimum. But there they are, taking a billion dollar property & decorating it with Pier 1 Imports & IKEA shit...

Great post. I feel so bad for Vargas and even Lipcius. What more do they have to do to get a chance? Bat .500? The obsession with players that have proven time and time again that they are mediocre will never make sense to me. The bar is set so low for Vargas/Lipcius and there’s even a chance that they end up being damn good players but why risk finding out when we can just trot out a bunch of mediocre ass veterans with low ceilings. Brilliant stuff

    this is what frightens me
if it’s just roberts, it’s bad that the FO has allowed him to mismanage the team, but at least it’s fixable
but if the FO is calling the shots, then it’s a much bigger — perhaps even unfixable — problem
    whatever the case, FML
