I don't usually watch the Yanks, but since they are playing the SFags, who are tied with us for second place , behind the first place Padres, Bellinger looks pretty good AB and very excellent in CF. Indeed.
I don't know how they are playing in this weather,( cold snowy rainy), but the Yanks just scored 4 and now lead 6-2.

First place... fifth place... none of that means shit until late July.

Fact is ... the rest of the Anal ... I mean NL ... wants to badly beat LA, but they are also shitting their jock straps at LA's depth. As spotty as parts are ... this Dodger team is still the class of baseball.

Anyway ... I'm happy for Belli. I hope he hits 40 & drives in 100. He's a stupid SOB but likeable enough.

Pitching help (hopefully) is on its way. This is from this morning's LAT. First news I've seen on Phillips and Kopech.

Clayton Kershaw is scheduled to begin his rehab assignment Wednesday at the Dodgers’ triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City. The future Hall of Fame left-hander is not eligible to be activated from the injured list until May 17.

Two other Dodgers pitchers recovering from injuries will pitch at Oklahoma City on Tuesday: starter Tony Gonsolin and reliever Evan Phillips. Gonsolin will make his third rehab appearance after striking out seven in 3⅓ innings Wednesday in Round Rock, Texas.

“Things are slowly moving forward,” said Roberts, who added that injured reliever Michael Kopech will throw a second bullpen Tuesday and starter Blake Snell will begin throwing Monday.

Bobby Miller is likely to be called up from Oklahoma City to make a start for the Dodgers on Wednesday against the Colorado Rockies, meaning Yamamoto won’t pitch again until Friday to open a series at Texas.

The rehab and roster shuffling nearly obscured a bullpen session at Dodger Stadium, this one the third in two weeks by Shohei Ohtani. The right-hander recovering from elbow surgery threw 30 pitches, nearly all four-seam and two-seam fastballs, although he did mix in a few split-fingered fastballs.

Early season flashes & slumps are always a shakdout. Much like the stock market, newbies & eejits buy or sell too soon ... while the big players wait, smile ... and get richer.

This is the same team that ran up a 9-game winning streak ... yet now, they look as bad as ... well, as bad as they are.

My only comfort is MLBs very own bastardization of the postseason. If this team continues to struggle and loses the division .... but still makes it into the goat fuck that is October baseball ... they've got the horses to still repeat.

That said, it's disgusting to watch shitty baseball in a Dodger uniform. Sunday, they leave 8 on base, including 4 by Teo, and 10 strikeouts. Pitchers like Glasnow & Treinen, who absolutely know better, throw meatballs over the middle to Busch & Crow, who take full advantage... wtf?

16-0 blowouts are anomalies, but that Sunday loss is far more concerning to me. Got to win those & when you don't, fix what's broken quickly... because October comes faster than you think.

If you're referring to Roberts' extension, I agree.

    Quick OKC update:

On Saturday the team erupted for 15 runs, with Outman homering twice. But what really makes this entertaining is that he sandwiched that performance on Fri and Sun with a combined stat line of 0 for 9 -- 7 strikeouts. Yes, you read that right... he struck out 7 times over 9 ABs. Obviously Saturday was one of those "something in the air" games and just a fluke.

In the Things-That-Make-You-Go-Hmmm category, Alex Freeland is now playing 3B, and over 64 ABs he's hitting .344 with an OPS of .905.

Kim continues to play multiple positions - 2B, SS, and CF. He's doing some nice things with the bat - 7 doubles, 3 HRs, and he's 4 for 4 on stolen base attempts. The strikeouts are still a little high, but I feel that his K rate has slowed a little from the start of the season. Definitely seems to be trending in the right direction.

Kershaw is pitching right now in OKC!

Got through the first on five pitches. Fly out, infield single, DP grounder. Not going to read too much into this start, especially because he's not even eligible to come off the IL until mid-May, but it's good to see him back on a mound.

His final line: 3 innings, 30 pitches, 2 hits, no runs, 2 K's, no walks. His fastball sat at 86-88, which is low but to be expected. Seemed to locate his pitches well, at least according to the game cast. He didn't go to a three-ball count to any of the ten batters he faced. All-in-all, a positive outing. Will be interesting to hear what he says about the toe, since it was apparently still causing discomfort as of about a month ago.

    Haha.

He may have hit that on one pitch. I didn't see every fastball, but the ones I did were 86, 87, and 88s.

The fourth place team in the NL West would lead the Central and be tied for first in the East. I guess that's what we're dealing with this year. Not much room for error.
