Injury info from today's Athletic..... Tyler Glasnow is also expected to visit with ElAttrache on Monday, albeit with more encouraging news. Glasnow recently resumed his throwing progression after landing on the shelf with shoulder inflammation. Beating both of them back to the rotation is Clayton Kershaw, who threw four innings and 57 pitches for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday afternoon. His surgically-repaired left knee and left big toe have held up. His fastball touched 89.1 mph. All indications are that he’ll be back on the mound at Dodger Stadium on Sunday against the Angels, the first day he’s eligible to come off the 60-day injured list. Emmet Sheehan has also cleared an important threshold in his return from Tommy John surgery. He faced Tommy Edman among other hitters on Thursday at Camelback Ranch, throwing approximately 40 pitches. Just 12 months have passed since Sheehan underwent surgery (which included an internal brace), but now he’s “a couple weeks out” from starting a rehab assignment, Roberts said. Odds and Ends Edman’s right ankle is not responding well to treatment, Roberts said, and it’s giving the utility man trouble when running. So it will not be a minimum stint on the shelf. That buys extra time for Hyeseong Kim and James Outman to stake their claims on the roster. Edman and Teoscar Hernández are slated for live at-bats next week at Dodger Stadium. Evan Phillips wound up getting an MRI on his right arm, after all. He has right elbow inflammation, and it’ll be at least a couple of weeks before he can start a throwing progression. He, like Edman, won’t have a minimum stint on the IL. Michael Kopech’s first rehab outing of the year couldn’t have produced worse results. He threw just three strikes, walking all five batters he faced. That made Sunday an easy bar to clear, but an encouraging one nonetheless, as he touched 99.7 mph and struck out a pair of hitters in a scoreless inning. Kopech is on the IL with a shoulder injury.
from buster olney/espn… A Nolan Arenado trade could still be possible. Conditions are emerging to foster this possibility, if Arenado waives his no-trade clause and if the Cardinals are willing to deal him. Normally, it's not easy to move a position player with money attached at midseason, but contenders could be interested in acquiring the eight-time All-Star third baseman. The Cubs haven't found a solution at third base, and the Yankees will soon try DJ LeMahieu in their ongoing attempt to fill the position. The Los Angeles Dodgers waited last season for Max Muncy to turn around a slow start, and he eventually did; this year, they're waiting again. Arenado, who killed a possible trade to the Houston Astros last winter, is owed about $24 million for the rest of this year, $27 million in 2026 ($5 million paid by the Rockies) and $15 million in 2027. .

Emmet Sheehan takes major step in return from TJ Surgery by Sam Garcia | Dodgers Nation — 12 May 2025 Emmet Sheehan missed all of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ World Series championship 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery last May. The right-handed starting pitcher recently took a major step in his recovery process. Sheehan began facing live hitters and threw 40 pitches in his session on Thursday, per Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register. Sheehan is reportedly a couple weeks away from a rehab assignment. Los Angeles initially selected Sheehan as the No. 192 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2021 MLB Draft. The Boston College product progressed quickly through the farm system and made his MLB debut on June 16, 2023 against the San Francisco Giants. But the 25-year-old has not pitched in an MLB game since his rookie season in 2023. He made 11 starts and 13 appearances, accruing a 4.92 ERA and recording 64 strikeouts across 60.1 innings. Sheehan has made one postseason appearance that year, throwing 3.2 innings in the Dodgers’ 11-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 1 of the National League Division Series in 2023. Sheehan allowed three of those runs during his outing. After his rookie season, the Dodgers placed Sheehan on the 60-day injured list ahead of the 2024 season. The Tommy John recovery process is a long road but Sheehan has not endured it alone. In addition to Sheehan, Dodgers’ right-handed pitchers River Ryan and Kyle Hurt are also recovering from Tommy John surgery. Following Sheehan’s procedure in May, Hurt received the surgery in July and Ryan in August. Both Hurt and Ryan have resumed throwing on the mound but have not completed a bullpen session. Sheehan, Hurt, and Ryan are three of 13 pitchers on the Dodgers’ injured list, not including two-way player Shohei Ohtani who isn’t pitching.
"Dave Roberts believes Tony Gonsolin has returned to All-Star form for Dodgers" would be great, but fwiw roberts also believes... • the earth is flat • pro wrestling is real • oswald acted alone
