    and on treinen…
    • “At the end of the day, there are certain guys I’m going to go to in leverage, and certain guys I’m not going to go to, and my trust in him is unwavering — I still feel confident in him. I’ve got to trust what I’m seeing, and not solely bet on the person or track record. We all need to see a couple good outings but most importantly, I want to see his confidence up. And to be quite honest, I think that right now he’s just not as confident in himself as I am in him. The main thing is that we got to get that confidence back.”

    and finally sasaki…
    • “Roki was really good. The stuff was good. He’ll fly to Arizona to come meet us there. [But] velocity, strike-throwing, the split that gets swing-and-miss, and just the ability emotionally to handle coming out of the bullpen and attacking guys is something he’s never done before. It’s still pitching, it’s still baseball. I feel he can do it, but it’s up to him to go out there and perform. We’re going to have a conversation, but he won’t be available to pitch until Wednesday.”

Right on all counts. A full spring and Kim should be challenging for a place in the lineup. He's currently overmatched at the plate. Great glove and wheels, though.

Give him an outing or two leverage spots. Then revisit him in the spring. No way he should be on a playoff roster. I'd rather see Klein on the roster.

Under the heading of not for the faint of heart........Skubal just hit a Cleveland hitter directly in the face. Saw it once and don't want to see it again. Total unintentional. Skubal obviously was affected. Threw a wild pitch to the next hitter.

I was just reviewing the progress the Giants Korean player (wow, racist), Lee, exhibited from last year to this. His batting average stayed about the same, but he had a fairly significant improvement in OBP and SLG. They say the game here is faster, so a year for adjustments makes sense.

They're roughly the same age, and comparing debut seasons, Kim had a higher OPS. If he makes a similar improvement in 2026, he'll be in good shape.

The kid squared around to bunt & placed the barrel to HIS FACE! WTF, man!? Skubal is 100% blameless on this one.

That one of the problems. He squared instead of just turning his torso to bunt. When you square around you have little or no chance to get out of the way of a 99 mph fastball.

Me too. Those hot starts that shizzle into a toilet bowl ending are great ...

So long as it isn't my team!

If just half of Scott's ten blown saves had been salvaged, LA would be 2nd seed instead of having to face the Mutts for best of 3.

This might be a miserable week upcoming. NY fans are abysmal humans, & we'll be hearing their aural sewage from now until the last out.

I know . . I know... the Mets aren't certain. Might be Cincy, or even Zona.

But I just know those metropolitan twats are going to be our matchup.

I googled "tanner scott voodoo dolls" on a whim ... here's the result....

The term "Tanner Scott voodoo dolls" is a fan-created phrase related to Major League Baseball closer Tanner Scott. It gained traction on social media, particularly Threads, in September 2025.

The phrase refers to the idea that fans of opposing teams are using "voodoo dolls" to influence Tanner Scott's performance. It suggests that fans are manipulating the dolls in order to cause a pitcher's poor performance, such as when a player appears to get a "random boner" as mentioned in one of the social media posts.

This fan-driven social media phenomenon highlights the passionate, and often comical, ways that sports fans engage with players and games.

So funny that the Mets are about to drop outside of the playoff field (assuming Reds hold their slim lead vs Milwaukee). Their nose dive has been epic. And after all that trash talk during the off-season.

    Some playoff scenarios:

    1. The Asstros need to win out and have either Cleveland or Detroit lose out to make the playoffs. Go Cleveland/Detroit

    2. The Mets and Reds are tied for the last wild card spot but the Reds hold the H2H tiebreaker. Arizona was eliminated tonight after losing to San Diego. The Reds rotation worries me as their 1-2-3 of Greene, Lodolo, and Abbott is very strong but their offense is not that good. Mets are the opposite team. Lots of question marks with their rotation but a very strong offense.

    3. The Blue Jays and Yankees are tied for first place in the AL East but Toronto has the H2H tiebreaker. The winner of the division becomes the 1 seed in the AL while the runner up hosts Boston in the 4-5 matchup in the WC. A lot on the line for those two the next two days.

    4. The Tigers and Guardians are tied for first in the AL Central but the Guardians have the H2h tiebreaker. The Tigers once had a 15.5 game lead on Cleveland and if the season ended today, they'd travel to Cleveland in the 3-6 matchup.

    5. Despite the Milwaukee Brewers currently having the best record in the sport, they are actually in danger of missing the playoffs according to baseball expert Boob Nightengale

Meanwhile, Beantown bitching 'bout Buehler's pitchin' ..

    https://bosoxinjection.com/red-sox-...t-to-notice-latest-walker-buehler-development

Buehler has looked like a pretty sturdy bridge himself in his first couple of appearances for his new squad, the Philadelphia Phillies. It seems like Philly might even be able to use him as a bullpen depth piece in the playoffs.

In two appearances for Philly thus far, Buehler has tallied a 2-0 record with an ERA of 1.04 and six strikeouts. His pair of outings haven’t been perfect (seven hits allowed in eight and 2/3 innings of work), but his sudden ability to limit runs has been a baffling and somewhat enraging viewing experience for Boston fans who haven't been able to look away.
