    Diaz converted 28 out of 31 save attempts last season. That’ll play. Especially for a team that blew 27 saves

    I took a look at his stats and see what you mean. But when he's on, he's really on. At least some of his not-so-good years can be attributed to injuries, or coming back from them. Dodgers needed to do something - rolling into next season hoping that Scott would suddenly be reliable again was not an option for a team aspiring to threepeat. And Diaz didn't opt out of two remaining years in his Mets contract to sign a one or two year deal. So yeah, Dodgers could have found a less-accomplished reliever to try at closer with less of a commitment, but this was the right move for a team with aging stars and needing to maximize the number of championships before the window closes.

    should we maybe kick the tires on harrison bader as a CF option?
    would enable pages to play RF and, more importantly, teo to LF
    a lot cheaper option than tucker or cody

    The Red Sox OFer, and resigning , maybe, of some the expiring once-effective pitchers... and the kids breaking in next year is, imo, a rose colored glasses viewpoint that is valid.
    I think they look fine ( but with a clever OF signing) , and have the utility abilities to play successful mix and match. I think Mookie will not have a year like last, but the spectre of age is now very obvious for multiple players. We will definitely need another hitter, for sure.
    The pitching staff is fine as far as age, imo.
    It's not the worse thing going into next season with the same championship team, with younger accomplished players now replacing the weakest areas revealed last year.
    As long as Diaz doesn't resemble Scott...

    Just left Andrew Friedman's suite here at the MLB Winter Meetings in Orlando. He spoke to reporters for about 20 minutes. Asked if the Dodgers could make another significant signing: “I would say we definitely can. How likely is it? That's another question.”
