The Dodgers have agreed to deals with Alex Call and Brock Stewart to avoid arbitration, per sources Call settled at $1.6 million and Stewart settled at $1.3 million.

Wrong thread, but...

Zazueta and Serwinowski are the two pitchers that I'm most looking forward to seeing their progression this year. Obviously Ferris is closer to being MLB ready and a higher-ranked prospect, but these two give me hope that we have multiple arms to potentially help in the not-too-distant future.

 

Boras better not fuck us by sticking to that ridiculous demand of seven years. Hopefully this is just the Yankees leveraging Bichette to get Bellinger to accept their terms.

That's pretty cool.

 

It's a headscratcher to me, but the Dodgers just used the open 40-man slot that they got from trading away Ruiz to claim light-hitting utility infielder Ryan Fitzgerald off waivers. This guy is 31 and just made it to the majors last year, so it's not like he's got a ton of potential. I was hoping that spot would go to Bichette. And between Rojas, Edman, Kim, and Freeland, do they really need another utility infielder? And how about Kike, are they planning to resign him?

Edit: Furthermore, they also have the prospect they got in the Margot trade, Noah Miller, in AAA, who doesn't have much of a bat but is a great fielder. Not that I ever want to see Miller on the major league roster, but if they're just viewing Fitzgerald as an insurance policy, why get someone that takes a spot on the 40 when Miller provides that?

 

In addition to Graterol, Call, and Stewart, they finalized a deal with Banda and therefore have nobody going to arbitration this year.

BREAKING: The Dodgers have signed Andy Ibanez to a 1-year deal LA has added their second infielder today.

 

Hmmm... I guess they don't expect Edman to be recovered from his surgery by opening day.

At least Ibanez has some decent splits against LHP. Still, now they need to do a corresponding move to make room on the 40-man. The Fitzgerald deal even makes less sense now. Like almost they meant to grab Ibanez first but screwed up. Oh well, it may not be clear to me, but I'm sure they know what they're doing.

The Yankees are now engaged with Bo Bichette and Kyle Tucker after moving on from their pursuit of Cody Bellinger.

The only good thing about that is that of the three, Boras only represents Bellinger.

But I want Bichette and it's bad news if NY signs either of these two. If the Yankees sign Tucker, then I expect Bo goes back to Toronto. Cody's ridiculous contract demand may end up screwing us.
