Brady Smith has high K numbers but still in A ball, so who knows how he progresses? Ryan can't seem to stay healthy, and he's pretty old for a prospect. But he has front-end of the rotation stuff.
I like the trade, but I wouldn't go that far. This is probably the best they were going to get on a rental and with the CBA uncertainty. It was either this or a compensary pick around #30-40. They actually did pretty well.
Tarik Skubal is a cy young caliber pitcher. None of the three guys we traded have proven anything in the MLB, 2 of which who haven't even seen a single pitch. This all but guaranteed us another trip to the WS.

don’t be surprised if we extend (no ED) skubal before season’s end no telling what limitations there will be once the work stoppage ends so skubal and boras might want to re-up rather than take their chances
