I would love to see a Pats vs Rams Superbowl. Old Wizard vs Young Turk. There are so many angles to that match up. I worry about the Rams defense the most, but something tells me McVay is just foaming at the mouth to get there and win. I do think he has kept a lot of plays and schemes close to his vest, ready to introduce them when needed. I think that was part of the Eagles success last year. I'm thinking McVay may have learned a thing or two from that SB.
This Kyler Murray situation is something else. So the A's are reportedly flying down to meet with Murray to try and convince him to play baseball and to not be a QB. And Murray, for his part, is telling the A's to give him more guaranteed money Lol Today is the deadline for Murray to declare for the NFL draft, so shit is getting real. BTW, Murray is regarded as the greatest high school QB to ever lace them up by many. Never lost. Insane numbers through the air and on the ground against top Texas talent MLB trying to win this war against the NFL's pull..if Murray is drafted say 4th overall, that's a $20M signing bonus
MLB is the safer route for the future but the NFL equals more immediate/guaranteed pay. Tough call. With all the new rules in place where you can barely touch the QB without being flagged, the NFL might be the choice. Not nearly as risky as it was in the past.
Mayock and Chucky need to beat the A's to Murray's house. They may as well go ahead and trade Carr, sign Foles for a year or two and draft a guy to come up under Foles That should be the plan Fuck the A's and baseball..Murray should be QBing in Vegas in 2020 If Murray pops in Vegas, with his dynamic game, he's the face of the NFL
Only real question I could see that may come up, in regards to his ability to play QB in this new NFL, is the size of his hands. That's it. Height doesn't matter anymore. More info has been accounted for, teams are looking at arm slots and angles, Murray's damn near getting it out higher than 6'5" Philip Rivers and his crazy throwing motion. But hand size could be a factor..they'll wet the ball at the combine/pro day and see how he fares accuracy/ball security wise. I don't see baby hands, but his hands aren't nearly as big as Russell Wilson's. Wilson is a freak, has the 3rd largest hands for a QB in the NFL and at that height. But Murray definitely has strong hands and wrists, you can see the much and assume the same given his pop at the plate in baseball. Hand strength and grip shouldn't be too much of a problem
According to Mike Leslie of WFAA, Kyler Murray wants a $15 million contract from the A’s. Otherwise, he will enter the NFL draft. don't blame the kid tbh always nice to have options and i'm sure he be legit cool if the a's said no
Are the A's allowed to offer more money? Would they lose future selections because they would blow passed the allotted amount of money they can spend on their first 10 picks?
i read somewhere that manfred/mlb ok'd them offering more i don't know if they were condtions though edit: from passan/espn ... The Oakland Athletics can sign Kyler Murray to a major league deal and offer him significant guaranteed money to choose baseball over football without running afoul of Major League Baseball rules, league sources told ESPN, the latest twist in a sport-vs.-sport battle for the Heisman Trophy winner that's expected to be resolved in the coming days.
That's kind bullshit, just cause mlb wants murray they are okay with bending the rules for an org Lame
Yeah QB is much much safer and they do make all the cash but damn 4 million guaranteed. Hard decision for sure but I feel bad for the A's, I mean they make it work but they lose this pick because they signed him to a bonus. He has to give it back though so I guess that help. To take this risk was their fault for sure but there had to be some assurances you would think. I would have stuck to baseball and I know it's a harder road ahead but how many successful Heisman winner have their been in the past, not very many.
Yes indeed. Kyler MurrayVerified account@TheKylerMurray 1h1 hour ago I have declared for the NFL Draft.
I heard AF engaged Belichick to do a motivational speech for the Dodgers but cancelled after learning that having heard the news, Roberts was found pissing himself in the corner of the shower!
Basically. Charlie MarlowVerified account@CharlieMarlow_ 18m18 minutes ago Why would Kyler Murray want to play in the NFL where every successful QB is marketed like a superstar, when he could play in a league that purposely keeps players in the minors longer than they should just to pay them less? I don’t get it.
Dan WolkenVerified account@DanWolken I’m not sure we fully grasp how important it is for baseball that Kyler Murray plays this sport. He’s already more famous than 95% of players in the major leagues and that might be conservative. Kyler:
Whole lot of mocks have the Giants going Murray @ #6 Have to say it'd be pretty funny for the smallest QB of all time to go to a team named " Giants "
Christian D'AndreaVerified account@TrainIsland 2h2 hours ago the Raiders are currently betting favorites to draft Kyler Murray at 3/1 odds. i can think of no greater local supervillain move than Mark Davis taking Oakland's football team, then stealing its baseball team's first-round draft pick outfielder on his way out SportsLineVerified account@SportsLine 1h1 hour ago Who Will Draft Kyler Murray 2019 Draft?
