Good question. Other than not wanting to use Julio and having Alexander on the IL it's a fucking mystery.

Was at the game last night only a couple attempted waves which was shocking. I was doing an unintentional wave however. Had aisle seats and our row was relentless in their pursuit of concessions!!!

The first might have been Frank Howard in the '63 Series against the Yankees.

Loved the way he cleaned things up, but he got away with a couple of sketchy sliders, especially called third to Johnny Hustle.

As long as I have been watching games from DS, the crowd sounds and actions of the fans never seem to match what the action on the field was...
I mean there many times the team was losing an important game, or blowing a lead, etc, etc...but the crowd sound was what you hear in an amusement park, people having fun, rather than what die hard fans would express at those times.
Not saying you shouldn't have fun at the park, but I've always wondered about that. It's as if the game is in the background, like listening to jazz on the radio from another room while talking on the phone.
Guess people go to the ballpark for different reasons...

Tearing a beachball apart is a wonderful thing.
You were in precisely the right place, at precisely the right time.
If you were a military man in uniform, that deed would merit a decoration, like a " a pair of wings upon your chest"...
Such a deed is on my bucket list.

Can we just fucking win the World Series this year? The Giants has fringe playoff teams win 3 titles and we have one of the best teams ever for like half a decade can we win once?

We don’t even have one good reliever and we’re 60-29.

I he actually follows through on this, I have zero problem with what he said.
But he won't, so it's just typical trash talk from one of the worst human beings in baseball.

Edit: Didn't realize it was a fan/player exchange. I thought he went out of his way to say it to the media.

Curious how this would work (let's assume he followed through, which I'm sure he wouldn't or couldn't - after all, it's a form of betting on baseball). Is he suggesting he'd put his salary up against the fan's salary, or is he expecting even dollar amounts on both sides? If he was stupid enough to bet his salary vs mine, I'd take that in a heartbeat. It would hurt to lose my salary for a year if the Padres prevailed, but it wouldn't break me. The odds would be too great to pass up (even factoring-in Roberts and his decisions).

Would have liked to have seen the Giants play the teams the caliber of Houston or the Red Sox in the Series instead of stiffs like KC, Detroit and Texas. Only KC put up a fight.
