    I believe it was Sr who died but yeah .... solid player who enjoyed the game. He just loved being on the field.

    Old news but Clase is in deep shit for allegedly betting on himself to throw first pitch balls and cashing in

    Just watch this video and look at the 1 batter in the entire video who swung at a pitch from a guy trying to throw a ball on purpose to get money. I laughed

    the hypocrisy of mlb
    players are forbidden to not only bet on baseball, but have any affiliation with casinos/betting sites, etc
    and yet multiple times during network games they run ads about sports betting, where together the odds, et al
    completely agree with players not being allowed to bet on mlb, but the “do as i say, not as i do” bullshit is laughable

    Even the Pope is getting in shots at the Cubbies (as if a White Sox fan should be trash talking anyone). From the Athletic..........

    Even the grandeur of the papacy apparently hasn’t been enough to prevent Pope Leo XIV from keeping up on baseball’s postseason.

    The American-born pope, whose Chicago roots made him a lifelong fan of his hometown White Sox, didn’t hesitate to go up and in when a parade attendee in Vatican City chided the passing pontiff by yelling “Go Cubs!”

    From atop the Popemobile, the pope didn’t miss a beat in his retort, with the same message delivered in Spanish and English: “Han perdido! They lost!”

    @DanClarkSports
    The #Dodgers are not ruining baseball. Owners of other teams, who do not re-invest revenue into payroll and instead retain greater profit for themselves, are the ones ruining baseball.

    Looking for a little feedback here...

    I haven't been to a game in years, so I'm very out of touch with ticket prices. Dodgers didn't play in Sacramento this year, but they're coming for three in 2026. All three are close to being sold out. Right now, I can get a pair of tickets down the third base line - call it short left field - half way up for $800. Isn't that really expensive or is it the norm these days? It's a small ballpark plus it's the Dodgers which I suspect has pushed prices up. I don't want to miss this opportunity, but damn... with parking and food/beer it will likely be a grand. (No outfield bleachers here so no "cheap seats.") Not sure that's worth it, especially if I can road trip for a game somewhere (say LA), pay less for tickets, and make a mini vacation out of it. Or is this in line with what I would pay at other parks for similar seats?

    I just checked Dodgers at SF in April. Similar seats would be around $560. I just hate going into that hellhole of a city.
