This deserves its own thread, sadly so. He's right there with Chick, Vin and Bob Miller as the greatest voices in LA sports. The voice of UCLA during the Alcindor and Walton eras and the voice of the Rams during the time of Deacon, Merlin and Roman Gabriel. RIP
one of those voices you remember the first time you hear it all those sundays and holidays w family he was there
2017 has been a cruel, unmerciful mistress on many levels...the list whom we have lost is voluminous and very sad.
Today we honor the life of Hall of Fame broadcaster + 12-year #LARams radio announcer Dick Enberg. RIP
Being of advanced chronological age, perhaps the tragedies of 2016 and 17 have all run together in my head...I certainly know what you mean, though. Mind blowing.
Looks like that magical generation of LA sportscasters are gone. Not left us necessarily but no longer working. It's a damn shame for the young'uns.
16 + 17 we're bad because of our rock and roll idols. All I can tell you is when Jimmy Page goes I might be down for a whole fucking year.
"To me, Dick Enberg was the greatest all-around sportscaster who ever lived and will never be emulated. He was a very dear friend of mine. He had my respect, admiration and my friendship. He will be sorely missed." — Vin Scully
