just got back from the premiere of moonage daydream the Bowie movie
for true fans its a must see in imax but its not as much unseen footage as i had imagined
in fact it was completely different from what i was expecting i guess
a lot of him talking about his life and what he should have been from very philosophical aspects
extremely cool and i will certainly see it again just surprised i guess
totally reinforces and shines the light on what a brilliant man he was

I read a review that liked it as you did but panned the IMAX element. Not sure if you saw it in that format or not.

Hollywood so desperately wants people back in theaters because the streaming services are clipping their wings and taking money out of their pocket, that they would pretty much put a Honeymooners episode up on IMAX if they could make a dollar doing it.

yeah i saw it of course and it didn't really bother me because his music was playing or he was talking
not sure anyone would be expecting a huge hollywood movie out of it though since it really is made by a fan for fans
Morgen could have gone for the easy stuff and songs like Life on Mars have imagery but really no screen time or discussion which was a bit odd since its a masterpiece
but again he made it about the man more than the music alone which was really interesting and something i didn't expect
other reviews will hit the nail more articulately and i guess i was probably most disappointed w the lack of nearly anything he did beyond the 90s
that was just jumbled into a loud 60 second montage of blips during Hallo Spaceboy which is a great song but did it need to be played twice?
easy to be critical and i'll say he didn't do anything that maybe me cringe, not even close
just so much imagery and music from one man...its an awesome film

    they’re doing it to themselves
and theaters aren’t doing them any favors
wife and i were going to go to a movie a couple weeks back…
then we saw how much the prices had gone up since before covid
fuck that shit — wait a couple months and it’ll be $3.99 on youtube
there are certain movies that are much better on the big screen, but most are fine at home for much cheaper
and fwiw, it serves the hollywood libs right for turning a blind eye to scumbags like weinstein for so long

    ^^^^This times a hundred^^^^^

In the end, the public isn't responsible for the pandemic - which was never a pandemic anyway - and regardless, the fiscal harm done to the industry is NOT the public's fault. Bill the government.

Oh yeah. Then they'll bill us.

So ... Grab ankle and get ready to bleed out your ass, Amurikka ... Y'all gonna pay one way or nutha.

I'm far angrier than Rudy Francisco. I've done poetry slam before. This man is one of the best out there.

Something light-hearted.. it was a beautiful fall day in Kentucky, and a song this cool makes sense for a day like that..

hugely underrated band and one of my faves of that era
    john sebastian is a genius

    obscure fact #1:
jerry yates played guitar briefly for the band
jerry’s brother jim was the lead singer on the association’s big hit “along comes mary”

    obscure fact #2:
i used to jam with a guy named rob, who’s dad managed the lovin spoonful

    obscure fact #3:
i’m actually taking a dump while typing this

    1. Such a great song. Better band.
This version shows that they could eff about and still come in together at the top without missing a beat ...
