My son made a good point today. he said Ned is the biggest dumpster diver in BB, but he's also the best at it. he's always got some scrub on the team , or a couple, that give us their last hurrah. He's good at dumpster diving...but sucks pretty hard at the FA market. Big BJ. Of course, if we look the other way on Todd Coffey and Kennedy and MacDougald. there's that.. And I don't really think there was any other choice for us other than AJ...I wouldn't get all gooey inside over that. Rivera's contract was a bit much, too. Oh, and it's May. WE've played well before in recent years, and went to the playoffs. And watched the other guys play in the big one. He has a hand in everything. time for a new deal...a new hand. Short memories are convenient. But bullshit.
Well, those ARE little things and every manager does these things and we'd notice that if we watched other teams this closely. On the other hand, we don't always know every detail the manager does, such as nagging injuries, scouting reports, etc. so we should give them the benefit of the doubt, though we usually do not. Again, I'm not claiming DBB is the greatest all-time or anytime really...just that he's miles ahead of everyone since Lasorda in L.A. I also always thought that Scioscia was a great manager as many Dodger and Angel fans have yet i hear Angels fans bitch about him all the time...especially this year. Bottom line is that all managers make questionable moves.
I very much dislike Scioscia as a manager. I'm usually a manager defender, but the one thing managers cannot defend is playing the worse player. Scioscia does that frequently.
I posted about him about a month ago. The guy was aces, couldn't think of his name though. Got no help on it, and even got in a few spats over him. just can't think of his name. Experienced guy.
