I cannot believe we took this long to get into first place, but I'm glad we're here
I cannot believe that we're still only running on partial performance from so many and yet.. team effort FTW
I can believe that our getting into first place yet again came when Kershaw was out
I cannot buhlieve that no one at DSP didn't start this thread the first day/first hour/before the game was over when we were in first place.

I'm rather pleased to get to post it on Day 2 of our inaugaral Western Conference championship position

    GO DODGERS!!

    World Series Team

    LF: Muncy
    SS: Machado
    DH: Kemp
    3B: Turner
    1B: Bellinger
    2B: Seager
    CF: Joc
    RF: Puig
    C : Ramos

    Bench: Taylor, Kike, Toles, Farmer

    Ace: Kershaw/Buehler
    #2: Stripling/Ferguson
    #3: Ryu//Maeda
    #4: Hill/Wood

    7/8th Inning Arms: Alexander/Cingrani/Fields/Floro/Goeddel
    Closer: Kenley

That team wins the world series. Weakest link is defense up hte middle and the collection of arms that are not playoff veterans leading up to Kenley Jansen.
The strength is the offensive production. Tons of potential for this lineup to run juggernaut on teams.
Starting pitching could be both a strength and an issue. Each of the starters can have their own personal emergency reliever that takes over the game if they are not cutting it early or they otherwise cant make it out of the 4th or 5th inning after a good start.
And its mostly for Ryu and Hill where I think it can be used to its best effect. If Kershaw and Stripling can get the team to the 6th or 7th inning then Buehler or Ferguson are saved bullets for an emergency in a future game.
If you can get 7 strong innings between Ryu and Maeda you are golden. Same from the Hill and Wood combo.
If each of those combos goes out and gives 2 to 3 runs per outing the team has a good chance of winning.
Specially if the first two combos of Kershaw/Buehler and Strpling/Ferguson can keep teams to just 1 or 2 runs.
It is a 27 man roster since there are always 2 guys on the bubble going back and forth with these front office guys.

Too many variables in that soup Rube but I agree with certain points.

And the Wood / Hill combo worked rather well tonight too.

But not good enough for the World Series.
That previous one was the playoff roster.
This is the World Series roster.

    DH: Muncy
    SS: Machado
    2B: Seager
    RF: Kemp
    3B: Turner
    1B: Bellinger/Kike
    CF: Joc/Taylor
    RF: Puig/Toles
    C : Grandal/Farmer

    #1: Kershaw
    #2: Stripling
    #3: Ryu

    Early: Wood, Hill, Ferguson, Urias
    Late: Maeda, Buehler, Alexander, Goeddel
    Closer: Kenley

Long roster should put runs on the board.
Make the 3 starters go at least 6 innings unless they give up over 4 runs or look horrible.
If they can't then its up to the early team of relievers to pick up the slack.
Late relievers are the setup men. Maeda with his veteran skill and Buehler with his young power are good additions to the set up team.

You're counting on Ryu coming back strong enough to serve as #3.. a long shot by most counts

Yeah he looked 'okay' today but he's just coming back and got into the 7th. At least Meada didn't blow the inning after hitting that guy.

I just updated this thread and noticed that it had only 7 replies as the Dodgers fell out of first place soooooooooooo fast in July

Now we need to cling more tenaciously, close this 'race' out already
