Afroman was not convicted of anything. In 2022, Adams County sheriff’s deputies raided his home as part of a drug and kidnapping investigation, but no criminal charges were ever filed against him. The raid, which found no evidence of wrongdoing, became the subject of Afroman’s viral music videos, including “Lemon Pound Cake,” in which he mocked the deputies using security footage.

The deputies later sued him for defamation, but Afroman won the civil trial on March 19, 2026. A jury ruled in his favor, affirming his right to free speech under the First Amendment. He has never been convicted of any crime related to the raid or the subsequent legal case.
