How much can you really care when they decide to throw Nolasco instead of Greinke in the biggest game of the year?

It's not ensured, and who is to say you don't lose one of the Greinke/Kershaw games after some ineffectiveness from 3 days rest and/or no offense and the biggest game of the year is in the hands of Ricky Nolasco with 20+ days rest in St. Louis vs. Michael Wacha. That would be pitiful.

If we were going to win this, Kershaw/Greinke/Nolasco were going to have to pitch once. This sequence is the best sequence for them: Kershaw/Greinke on normal rest, Nolasco at home vs. their worst pitcher.

My two cents. We've been in this situation in the NLCS twice before, and you do whatever you can to even up the series. Going down 1-3 is a death sentence. They shouldve pitched Greinke here.

Its still early, so who knows. But the offense will start to press now, and Mattingly may end up warming up Grienke anyway.

 

If you worry too much about the next day you might not get there. Tonight is a must win imo.

So hopefully they win and then we feel we're playing with house money. But yeah

I don't understand why tonight is a "must-win" moreso than tomorrow, or Game 6 would be. You have to win 4. I'd feel more comfortable having to win 3 with our 1-2-3 on full rest rather than going 80 pitches each.

 

Whatever happens, if we lose the next days the fault is going to lie heavy on the offense for not winning one of the first two games.

Nolasco is a good pitcher. He had to start at some point. Also, its 3 runs; hardly a meltdown.

 

I agree today is a must win but the offense has to step up and Nolasco has to do his job. team effort
