    it was the lamest trade deadline in history... when the biggest name to be moved it Jake Peavy (and not exactly 2008 Peavy) you know the market was crap...

    LOS ANGELES DODGERS: The Dodgers are playing so well these days it's almost as if they don't need anything. Whenever Matt Kemp returns it's going to be awkward, and the Dodgers knew that when they were listening on calls about Kemp (as well as Carl Crawford and Andre Ethier). Bolstering their rotation with Ricky Nolasco didn't cost much at all, and taking a flier on Brian Wilson coming off Tommy John surgery was a gamble with no downside. From May flop to National League favorite? It's looking more and more like it.​

    I wish I knew what kind of offers Ned was getting for Kemp, CC, and Ethier. Just out of curiosity.

    I think this year's action (or lack there of) at the deadline is a result of the playoffs being expanded so much. MLB may need to rethink the deadline and push it back 2 weeks, otherwise this is going to be a regular thing - maybe less trading is better?

    Cliff Lee was the biggest name on the market, and as far as the Dodgers are concerned he should still be on the table throughout August. We will likely be the only NL team to put a claim on that albatross of a contract... again.

    The second paragraph is choppy and has no segue from the first. It's not wrong because we can still trade for Cliff Lee, but it is shitty.
