Bevmo and Total Wine are both great. Near me is Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Newport - basically a mom and pop version of the others.

Would be traditional if anyone was left or around in the family to be traditional with.
So instead, had shrimp, clams, mussels, scallops and lobster over risotto after a stuffed artichoke appetizer...
Not so Thanksgivingy, really...but damn well done.

That looks delicious. I've had plenty of non-traditional Thanksgiving meals. Traditional TG is good, but I don't know if you can beat a good steak and asparagus. Well played.

speaking of non traditional we always do TG on Friday because the family is big and it just works so
i took my two daughters out for sushi tonight and we didn't know if our places would be open so we just drove with no destination in mind
ended up around ventura and tampa at brothers sushi which has some history for those of us that have been fish crazy the last four decades
as we pulled up there was a cart and clearly a body under a blanket and i commented to the girls that there was a person laying there
went in and gorged and drank and dropped a couple of dollars on a wonderful meal as we talked about how much we love each other
as we left i noticed the cart and blanket were still there and i could see the shape of a head and hair so i approached
i called out hello are you awake? hello? more or less expecting to see an inebriated face look up at me
but that wasn't the case at all. in fact the face looking back at me was an older woman and she was obviously in pain and looked me directly in the eyes
she had tears in her eyes and i had $20 in my hand and i just said i want you to have a hot breakfast but i was destroyed
i touched her head and all i could say was baby i'm sorry...
I feel like i had an epiphany tonight and that the moment was meant to happen
maybe i can't be much of a difference but i want to try
sat on a fence but it don't work
we have to do better than to just look away from the truth
i need to do better and right now i don't know what that is but i know i have as much or more energy to make it happen
    we all deserve dignity

i used to work off desoto in the late 90's and used to go to brothers all the time
not sure if they still have it, but they used to make a "brother's roll" that was fucken epic
saw howie mandel there once [seemed like a self-absorbed douche]

your experience tonight is what it is
    nothing more
i'd tell you not to sweat it but i know you better
i think i told you about that one time where i caught and cooked and bunch of fish for this group of homeless guys that used to frequent this one freeway offramp
the next day some anonymous fuck called the cops and i never saw those guys again
i was fucken pissed but i had zero recourse
point is, what you did was good devil
more than a lot of other people would have
it's not what we do or how much
it's that we do something, anything for our fellow man
if, for even one day/one hour/one minute, we can do something nice for someone it helps
    you did well
    and you'll do well again

So very very true. We all deserve dignity.
I've always believed that to my core...
    Animals deserve it, too.
It's looked at sometimes as a weakness, and occasionally, it works against you.
But I believe it is a strength.

Costco is underrated. I just don't deal well with the masses in that place.

im on my to being an international arms dealer
i just bought a shitton of weapons
of course they will only be of use after the apocalypse when samurai swords, nepalese kukris, and scottish claymores are more in demand than a pistol with no ammo.
and yes, im halfway plugging myself as your arms dealer of choice should the need arise

Yeah, claymores aka great (mor) claideamhs (gladius/fighters/sword), and side knives aka cutting tools/skinners.
    I have some claymores.
The big braveheart one for example.

Easy to make ammo. Your customers will be bringing a knife to a gunfight.

Doesn't Facebook target ads based on your interests and browsing history?

Seems like maybe you're getting a little too fedit and they think you are a terrorist.

scians are the straight long pointy knives
claideamh is just the word for sword in gaelic and when the nordics came into hibernia with their longswords the natives just called them claideamh but added the word mor as in more/plus/great/large to the name.
what era are you looking for
