Looks like barring a :cursing: miracle we are lottery bound and pick should be a keeper unless we get screwed by the ping pong balls and don't get a top 5 pick. Who do you guys want? I know it's early as hell but there is nothing to look forward to with this team. I would love to get Jahlil Okafor from Duke. Watching him for the second time already this year. Kid is a hustler and has a polished low post game for a 19 year old. Him and Randle down low would look pretty good for years to come. Second 1st rounder I would like to get a point guard like Juwan Staten with the Houston pick we got in the stupid ass Lin trade. Early second round pick should have some good talent still available. :soapbox:

Obviously Okafor is what we want. Him and randle inside would be a great start inside for the future.

However, we wont get him because we need actual luck for that. Im guessing we end up with the fifth pick.

I'll be happy if they tank enough or get lucky enough to keep that top 5 pick.
Having Randle, <insert top 5 pick here>, and a max FA next year (or two the year after) is a decent start to rebuilding.

Need to have the worst or 2nd worst record to ensure a top 5 pick...worst is off the table since philly looks unbeatable in the tanking race.

    sheesh.. the tanking race...

"Well fans with the successful #Tank2014 campaign behind us and the Lakers steadfastly unable to find anyone with fire in the belly or any ability to muzzle Kobe on that same topic, and numerous public confirmations of NBA players that simply do not want to be on his team, it appears that we will have to wait until March 22, 2015 to force a decisive first win upon 76'ers. Still the Laker current momentum lucky streak has them at a distinct disadvantage"

What ever the fuck have we become??

I like Towns best, but not gonna get him.

Okafor will be nice. Then need help at PG, SG, and most importantly, SF.

So what do you guys think of Muydiay?

    4. Emmanuel Mudiay, PG, Guangdong

It's incredibly unlikely that the Lakers go small in the draft, but we can't rule it out entirely. The point guard position is by far the deepest in the league, which could cause some hesitation to take one this high in the draft. Still, if the Lakers absolutely fall in love with someone like Mudiay, who brings size and athleticism to the position, maybe they buck conventional wisdom and go that route. It's just hard to see, especially given how well the rookie point guard Clarkson played this season.

Hard to pass on a big like Towns or Okafor?

Trade down to get Kid Mudi at the 3 or 4.
He could be a Kobe replacement down the line.
    Has some D-Wade in him.

    Re: Mudiay.
I watched the video of his lakees workout. Mudiay can't shoot for shit. Okafor looked better from 3pt range. No way the Lakers draft this guy. I think be falls out of the top 5.

I'd rather Russel if they go small. Looks like James Harden or Brandon Roy.

neither could wade and a lot of other guys early on
he is a killer scorer on the drive and can take pro banging and still score
that means high scoring percentages and good efficiency
his form is not as bad as tyreke evans, he can improve once he has proper coaching
remember he has no college coaching
closest thing to getting a raw HS super talent like back in the days of Kobe, KG, and LeBron
i would rather have towns than okafor if we go big and he is there. towns is like a black (more athletic) vlade divac with better range
maybe like a brad daugherty who could run and shoot and dunk
okafor has a lot of the same attributes as andrew bynum
of course if bynum didnt have bynums head he would be a perennial all star
kid mudi will make an impact right off the bat and when his shooting becomes better he will be a high impact player
russel is nice shooter but doesnt have great range either, more of a rip hamilton type of guy
weak though, no legs and cant finish that well at the rim, those players tend to come and go

saying all of that i havent watched any of them play much at all and am just going off of scouting reports i read earlier today and a few videos i saw :D

Okafor reminds me of Tim Duncan. Below the rim and smooth as all get out. Even when he's moving fast, it looks like he's not trying.
Have you seen his hands? The basketball looks like a grapefruit in his mitts.

If he gets a fire under his ass, he can be an amazing player.
But in any case, he looks like he can be a 20/10 guy without even breaking a sweat.

Neither could Rubio and Rondo, and those guys never learned to shoot. It's a big risk to take when there are more sure thing players still on the board.

    Brook Lopez

but brook is still a nice player
if okafor is a brook lopez instead of a tim Duncan hes still a good player to have at C next to Julian Randle
